I do not see what the weird attachment is to the ATIS sheet. Why do professional pilots need an ATIS template? Bring a post it note if you feel the need to write.
The ATIS sheet has to be the dumbest thing I've seen. Just look at FD Pro or WSI for weather information.

I’ve never been a huge writing on the release person—but I’ve seen some of you mark that thing up like crazy. What is it you really have to write? Use a grease pencil and a window.

I just circle some stuff on it and write the min takeoff, min planned, and bingo fuel on it. Then I write notes like SOB and gate numbers.
I can write that stuff elsewhere, but someone handed me a printed copy of the release, so....

most are doing what’s called “busy work”. In an effort to feel more like a Captain, they must make the job way harder than it is.

Yeah for sure. I think it's directly proportional to how "laid back" someone is.

We never print TO numbers, they are in the FMC... and I dont need to see them after I load them... I dont need to write the clearance down, its in front of us... and the ATIS is too damn small to read anyhow..
