Pilots were generally great to deal with. Nearly 100% said to never apply and go work elsewhere. The comment specifically refers to the gate agents who were too bitter and ****ed off to do their job or even make an attempt at doing their job.

Haha that was just about every Southwest thread narrative before SWAPA published your Pilot TA.

With all due respect you know better, it’s not difficult to decipher the incentives of individual statements. Why are we still discussing the past, this thread is about a new hire looking for advice to decide their future.

Not too shabby to have CJO’s to American and Southwest.

Options are nice. The AA pilot comments had nothing to do with CBA’s and everything to do with the toxic work environment caused by management’s incompetence and the merger of TWA/AA/AW/US Air. Things change over time, but my TWA friends still can’t stand working there.

In the long run, it turned out that the good General wasn't even a pilot, much less one for DAL.

I am getting a feeling of Deja Vu with LAX/DEN and a few others.
I absolutley remember that screen name from that other forum, was it flightinfo or something like that? He/she/it/they would drop down into regional forums and troll relentlessly about flows from dal to the delta regionals.
Quite an evil person imho

With that said the constant “my airline is better” arguments are lame and it needs to end. We are all just expenses on a balance sheet. If you are at any of the major airlines I believe you will have a great career and what works for one person does not mean it works for another. If you are at a regional and happy then you are doing great too.

I know you were just responding to another poster but congratulations on making a great decision for you.

Looking forward to the Airline versus Air Line versus Airlines discussions to stop.

This right here. "My team good, your team bad." No wonder politics has gotten so bad too...

A lot of animosity towards AA/SWA and second-hand "information" in this thread, hope OP and others with same question figured out what will work best for them and theirs'.. and from sources outside the hateful place that is APC.

The General was the milky opaque bedstain of FI, no doubt! Just curious, how was he/she/xe outed?

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned that GL was some relative of whoever ran FI at the time. There was speculation that GL was there to keep the pot stirred and keep the hits and page useage up. As soon as whoever took the page over, GL pulled an Andy Dufrense and vanished like a fart in the wind.

I’m 53% system wide, can hold captain in all but ATL and MCO, and have over 5300 pilots below me. With zero growth, I’ll retire around #850.

From my perspective, I’m in a good spot. The only greener grass I’ll be chasing is a prospective BNA bid, my car project (not a Miata) and a better exercise routine (ok starting one anyway).

We make choices with the options and info we have at that time, and we will know how we fared the day we retire.
Driving to work from your home of choice is huge. That's #1. The carrier that matches that is, by far, the #1 choice.

Number 1 is the company that likely remains in business during your carreer.

You make the profession look like we’re flying plumbers, which I’m sure is why you earned that nickname from management.
come back, I’m bored.
