The second VP job was split off to allow one person to handle our money and give it 100 percent of their attention. It is essentially the comptroller.
Having flown with Hank and picking his brain and after reading all the candidate platforms, it was an easy choice for me. He lives, eats, and breathes this stuff. I must say this is one of the few times that I would have voted for every one of those folks and not felt an ounce of regret, though. Quite refreshing.

Looks like you'll be able to get PHX right away. Junior FO started early OCT and just finished IOE. Could be his consolidation month and may have a couple months of reserve in LAS in his future but that's it.

Quit being melodramatic. This place isn’t going anywhere. Too big to fail now.

Seriously... no such thing as too big to fail in our industry and plenty of big names in the airline graveyard.

I keep hearing that. It sounds like someone's wishful thinking that's not rooted in reality. I assure you, we'd definitely be allowed to fail. No amount of DEI, and no amount of green bile instead of Jet A would spare us the mathematical certainty of a no-BS failure. COVID was a one-off because the airlines' failures would have been caused by the government hence the bailouts. But if our, or any other major airline for that matter, fails due to their own incompetence or mismanagement... the government will simply say, gee... that's too bad and so sad, but that's free market at work, but not to worry - others will fill the void.
