Out of curiosity, does anyone expect for Captain upgrade times to come down at all in the future or will 6-7 years still be the norm?

If we somehow manage to add a red-eye shift (including red-eye reserve), we'll need more crews, and I think that'll drive upgrade times down if it happens.

Of course, getting more crews to come here (and stay) is going to require a quality CBA to be ratified, and soon. Until we have more planes and more pilots on property, I don't see much changing.
