I agree with ya.
Are we talking an actual TA or an AIP?
I think we'll get an AIP this yr but it will get turned down by the BOD.
The company will then go into full PR mode saying how they wanted to make us the highest paid 737 pilots, delta +1 via new fangled math, in the US and blame us for their stock dumping.
then next spring we'll get an AIP that the BOD makes a TA because we will be going into summer with moral and operations way worse than now. Also throw in another 3 mini meltdowns also blamed on pilots not accepting a deal.
New contract June 1

The big spoiler may be whether the government stays open past the deadline of November 17th. If congress can’t agree to a budget or a continuing resolution, the govt shuts down, including the NMB. That means no further mediated sessions until it opens up again. SWA and SWAPA could continue to negotiate without them, but who is to say that’s what SWA wants? They may say “no thanks, we’ll talk to you after the NMB comes back to work”, or they may want to wrap it up. Only they know what their timeline and goals really are.
This prevents the company from extending negotiations for sure and hopefully keeps things moving.

Just curious, but aside from pay rates and a significant upgrade to the LTD policy...what other contractual improvements are a focus of the negotiations?
And my understanding is that you're seeking DL 757 rates, correct? Basically the same as what UAL just got? Or am I mistaken...

I think the NC has been straightforward about what they have achieved and where they may have had to bend in order to move negotiations past a logjam. What I am afraid of is that some things have cropped up (hotels separate from FAs) and some things are non starters for a lot of folks (co-domiciles). For those of us who aren't in a hurry, it isn't a big deal. We will get it on the second or third pass. I think the pay rates will be what they need to be. If they aren't, see above.
We will soon get a chance to see how bad fatigue is. There are some folks who will want to punt, but they don't realize that the clock is about to run out and we need to go ahead and score a touchdown this drive.

SWAPA is seeking Delta 757 rates to fly the 737? I mean more power to you if you can pull it off. I would expect DL/UA rates +$1 at best from a hostile management team that clearly has zero interest in what SWAPA wants. Happy to be proven wrong.

When just about every FO and likely some captains looking at the potential of jumping ship for United/Delta and being a captain within months, management will have to do much better than +1 to convince them to stay. Quick upgrade will never be a reality at SWA, so they've gotta make up for those lost career earnings by breaking free from industry 737 rates. IMO.

Hostile is putting it mildly. The hate for pilots that the CEO has built at this place is beyond belief. In other news he has the stock going below 20 soon. I think he can hit single digit.
