I suspect you could serve more quickly and with less waste with full sized carts. And should the company ever get off its rear and sell snacks, the carts would offer storage.
I don’t blame the FAs for not wanting to be out in the aisle with a tray full of drinks if it’s bumpy. What’s the up side for them? They either risk getting hurt OR spilling on a customer.
Im on their side with this one.
Now the constant cringy PAs during boarding…. That’s where they lose me. 😬😵💫

Just because you capitalize NOBODY, doesnt inherently make it more true. People can and do pick airlines bases on customer service and inflight. Do they all, surely not, but lots of them do otherwise we would be nothing but a nation full of ULCC's. You should care about the "cattle" as they are the ones paying your fat check on the 5/20 and more than just a 1/2 can of coke, some might want an alcoholic drink. Not all of our flights are 50 min up and downs. I have seen them not serve on 3+ hour flights because the CA decided to tell them a report of light chop half way there. That's not right.
Pax pay more for parking than a one way flight across the country. They may complain they don’t get a drink but in the end if the price is right and the network runs on time, they will be back. My final thought on this matter is the crappy HI service we offer. We have no power outlets, crappy wifi and a snack pack that came out of an elementary school lunch program. The cattle keep a coming back for that flight. If they really cared about the inflight service they would be on HAL because they have superb inflight service and better airplanes.

I disagree with several things. Once again the financials of the airlines show service means next to nothing. B6 offers an outstanding product, their mint product is amazing, but the financials of that company indicate they can not generate a premium based on the product. Their RASM is alarming while the CASM is skyrocketing upwards. They have no pricing leverage and only generate high RASM on flights that are not served by other carriers. They are pulling out of several markets because of pricing issues. Delta has a great product but it’s because of their network and its reliability and not because you get a Biscoff cookie. People value the cost and time over anything else. Nobody will pay 60 dollars more BTV-JFK on B6 because the inflight service when Delta is cheaper. Delta has fewer delays and more robust network so B6 is bailing out of that markets. People value their money simple as that over anything else. ULCC model financially only works to a certain size but even in the flawed installment you can see people flock to them. They also run away not because of the inflight service but because of the crappy network and reliability.

Even though we make money despite ourselves I'd like to have a product I'm not embarrassed by.

The ability for the FAs to smooth over an upset passenger is very limited when operations messes up someone’s vacation plan. So that’s why I don’t worry what they are doing. They can be absolutely wonderful to the passenger but if we arrive in HNL 2 hours late and they know their bags didn’t make it with a dead iPhone and WiFi not working for 6 hours??? They do not remember the drink.
Oh bring back the peanuts!!! How about we carry the epi pen in the medical kit again and let our peanuts fly!!!!

Peanuts? This isn’t 1979.
How about a variety of full sized snacks for people to pick from? Better yet, let’s sell food the customer is actually willing to pay for? Then let’s CLEAN the lavs periodically and maybe buy some paper towels that actually FIT in Boeing towel dispenser rather than cramming them in there. As long as we’re dreaming, how about assigned seats, a few rows of premium class, and professional. recorded boarding and safety announcements? Tell the FAs to stop surfing on their phones during boarding and deplaning? Finally a minimum of THREE flights a day to every city that receives daily service. Morning, mid day, and night.
Then again, there’s a reason I’m not an airline manager. I’d probably bankrupt the place inside of a week trying to fix it.

No, I'm sure that's purely a coincidence. Just like how airline Financials go into the toilet during major contract negotiations and then miraculously rebound to record levels as soon as whatever "raises" are ratified.
F9 also issued updated guidance saying the sky was about to fall, even though no other carrier was seeing this, within a week or so of their pilots beginning negotiations?
This stuff isn't rocket science. I'm not saying things can't go bad with the economy or a new war, but those things aren't currently happening, and may not happen soon, so the money still floweth.

I can confirm all of the half cart nonsense.
If this airline would get its head out of... Well anyway, two full sized carts with two FAs working each one can do snacks/food sales/drinks all in one fell swoop, can move their carts out of the way if need be for turbulence/bathroom runners just like every other airline. One cart starts at the middle, the other starts at the front. Going to the bathroom is not unique to swa passengers.
It would make things safer for FAs, would provide a better service (it's extremely annoying to order your drink, wait 10 minutes to get your terrible snack mix, and then wait another 15 minutes for your drink), would provide more food options, would reduce waste, would reduce mistakes (like the vodka soda delivered to a pregnant lady next to me once), and would provide more revenue opportunities.
It's literally win-win-win-win-win-win.
So naturally, we do things differently here at Trailways.
