Choose SWA or UA based out of LAS?

That is an advantage that we have that doesn’t get enough play. Yes, we work harder when we are at work. But that allows us to hit our number in fewer days. I don’t go to work for a vacation. I go to work to earn a living and get home asap because the tIme with the family is worth far more than money. Time is the real currency.

Pardon me if I can't take a miserable drama queen seriously, especially when the topic is self-worth, especially in this environment.

Riiiiiiiight.... and I'm the drama b!tch that masturbates to any negative news and tidbits about Southwest, craps all over this pilot group at every opportunity, and professes doom, gloom and falling short at every step of the way.

My first day back after an AM, I'm a puddle of goo. The last day off before an AM, I have to be sleeping by 7pm, so that day loses a lot of value too (can't really have dinner with the family, let alone help kids go to sleep).

I agree with a major caveat: our trips are so jam packed and fatiguing that the fatigue has absolutely started to bleed into my days off.

With regards to self-worth, I know what it'll take for me to vote yes. Do you? Better yet, would you ever vote yes?
See, I know what I expect in this contract with respect to career value through rates and work rules i.e. soft money; experience on the line and improvements I want to see in day-to-day operation, and career protection (STD/LTD/benefits). I have a number of automatic NO triggers that I've talked about many times. If any TA doesn't meet my thresholds, I'll vote NO and I'll outline to others why I'm voting that way, or why I'm leaning either way. A good, articulate arguments can sway people one way or another, not to mention point out something one may be missing... Being a drama b!tch? Not so much. So... don't be a drama b!tch.

this will change soon.. you and I both know this.
to the person asking.. you really just have to go w/ your gut. I had a CJO here and AA. I had no desire to fly a WB. You’ll sit right seat longer here making $250k+ (w/ new TA and not working much extra) and enjoying 18-20 days off a month. You can move your trips around easily. Your good locals will get picked up most of the time. You will also work harder here in order to get that. For me, I’d rather be utilized away from home. At UA/AA their trips are mostly min credit which means more days working to hit your target. Yes you can upgrade sooner, only to sit reserve for 5-7yrs w/ 12/13 days off. It’s all about what you want to get out of it.
