Title should read “BNA base promised by management during contract negotiations”.

Nothing has been confirmed…….they’re just trying to influence sentiment and voting.

Rumor has been there would be two new brick and mortar bases announced. I imagine they'll wait until the DEN spirit party to announce the other. Unfortunately, the Flight Attendants killed the satellite base concept, so a second rumor is that there will also be 4-5 mini bases eventually announced. Congrats, to the BNA commuters!

After claiming to wait until January to meet again with TWU 556, management is now meeting with them virtually in a small group on Wednesday, August 16, under the guidance of their mediators.

As a mil guy, I’m unfamiliar with the process of airlines opening new bases. I know BNA will be super senior, but as a new hire how long would one expect to wait before getting based there? I understand exact numbers can’t be said but are we talking 2-3 years or 5-10 years. If I’m following right, it also depends if they grow the base vs leaving it small.

Am I correct in assuming it would make commuting easier for those living in Nashville but not based there since there will be less commuters? Thanks for the input, interview in a couple weeks and figuring all this stuff out and you could probably guess, but looking to move to the Nashville area.

Agreed, if spirit/JetBlue thing goes through, spirit will have to give up some of FLL.

my impression is they don’t want a base prone to hurricanes.

Lol exactly. MCO is probably prone to more hurricanes than FLL. They get them from both sides of the state. In 2004 MCO got 3 hurricanes.

What I meant was “ANY MORE bases that are prone to hurricanes.”
