No, he’s right. That story has become tiresome.

Some people have a hard time with the truth. I could go anywhere. However I chose to ride it out. The truth is OUR CBA sucks. The truth is OUR pilots give concessions and MOUs. The truth is our TA will NOT be industry leading or re-written. The truth is you will have zero options as to what you fly. The truth is your seniority will NOT give you more days off unless you "manipulate" stuff. The truth is the NC refused to table pairing and line construction. The truth is the NC refused to table hotels. (Failure to table and negotiate precludes industry leading even if ALL other parts are industry leading). So why would someone come here?

What‘s become tiresome is that some SWA pilots still look down on and consider themselves “elevated” above those of us who were reluctantly adopted.

You’d think the past several years of this airline going to $__t would humble everyone but apparently some still think their excrement doesn’t stink and they’re above others.

No need to respond. I don’t want to hear it. 🖐️

Honestly outside of this board, I dont think anyone gives two ****s about where we all have come from. Every AT pilot I have flown with has been great.

Whack, the OP was the one that brought it up. I could care less where another pilot comes from nor do most of our coworkers. Some AirTran guys can't let the merger go for whatever reason. They got screwed, the pilots already here got screwed, and the pilots hired right after the merger got screwed. That's what happens when your lying ceo folds another airline in and sells off two thirds of the aircraft. People get screwed.
It's whatever to me. Live, laugh, love. But don't poison the well for potential new hires coming here because your own timing sucks. Yeah, I wish I was 25 with a fresh ATP, but I'm not. Saying that SWA is going to suck for the next 40 years because your timing and choices sucked is ridiculous. It's like the old guys who fly with new guys and tell them they should go to delta. It's rude and counter productive to our end goal. These kids aren't idiots. They know what they signed on for. Let's maybe try to keep some quality pilots around to man the ship once the contract is done.
And oh, by the way, it is going to be a rewrite and it's going to be awesome or we are going to go on strike until it is. Maybe captain grumpy pants will get age 67 passed so he can hang out with us and be miserable for another 2 years.

This!

Nonconcessions brought it up in about as an a$$holish way as he could. And, the old coot is spreading FUD as if we should all just fold and sign whatever POS Carl slides across the table.

I DON’T give two sh!ts if you’re from AirTran, Air Force, SkyWest, or wherever…. To me, you’re a SWAPA brother/sister. I also don’t tolerate anyone sh!tting all over our pilot group, and especially now. 81 in our pilot group did, and given their message I wonder if those jackasses are the ones spreading the “resistance is futile” FUD. To them, a big hearty GFYS!

Hear hear!

Our union is us. Divided we cannot stand. The 81 are shameful.

“Says a guy who clearly couldn't get hired anywhere else so he pinned his career hopes on ValuJet. Now there's a strong union shop filled with hardcore unionists from Eastern....

As for getting acquired, perhaps you would have preferred to have gone by the way of ATA, Aloha or Champion.... my heart bleeds for you.”

You don’t give two sh!ts, huh? I’d say that judging by your comments above, you most certainly do. GMAFB 🙄

I'd say you have a reading comprehension, brother. But since you want to go there, let's go...

Let's get a few facts out of the way:

1) Whether you like it or not, AirTran was NOT a peer to Southwest when it came to career expectations. At best, AirTran was barely a step above a regional airline in that it flew under its own code.

2) The above theory is easily proven by the number of movements between the two airlines. Before the merger was announced, you had AirTran captains applying to leave AirTran to come to Southwest and start on the very bottom as FO's; there were exactly ZERO applications from Southwest pilots looking to start over on the bottom at AirTran. Despite it being rather lopsided today, we still have pilots on probation or just off probation who left Delta/United/American and started over as probationary FO's here. Again, how many Southwest pilots left Southwest to start over at AirTran?

3) On the basis of the above, whether you choose to admit it or not, while you may have lost your captain seat, your career value increased by a rather healthy margin. Virtually all AirTran pilots I know realize and acknowledge this. They also mention a few malcontents who are still angry because they didn't get the windfall in the merger.

4) In any case, when it's all said and done - IT'S OVER! IT'S BEEN OVER FOR YEARS. DROP IT ALREADY. You are a Southwest pilot. We have a contract to fight for and possibly strike over. We need every bit of unity we can get. Having divisive a$$hats coming here and talking about "being acquired" while sh!tting all over our pilot group is helpful how and to whom? What possible good comes out of "being acquired" comments? GIVE. IT. UP. Count your blessings that you didn't get ATA'd, or ended up on the street with a couple of days warning with complete loss of seniority from a much better place than you were at. You fought a good fight to get the most you can get... NOW IT IS OVER. DROP IT!

And no Whack, I don't give a sh!t if you were AirTran - again, you're a Southwest pilot now, and yes, my comments stand to any divisive, FUD-spreading a$$hat regardless of where they're from. They can take their FUD and shove it up their keister sideways with a twist.

Actually 300 if you count the 220 non-voters. I was flying with one the day the SAV results came out. He was definitely voting no by not voting.
