poopoo out.
Told us in UPG that BNA was top choice for the next base but the only reason they haven’t pulled the trigger yet was they wanted a ramp control first.

Standby for BNA announcement at one of the Spirit Parties…I mean, pickets.

I think the BNA ramp works fine the way it is. Leave it to management to start controlling and screwing it all up!

Announcing entry into a congested alley via CTAF is silly. Once that satellite terminal is open for business it’ll be even worse.

That might be a varsity level achievement for this rec league airline though.
I think you're misunderstanding the question. From a 5th freedom standpoint, there's nothing wrong with buying a round trip ticket on a foreign carrier.

For instance, I've purchased many tickets on non-US carriers that started at city A in the US, went to foreign land city C, and returned to either city A or a city B in the US. Even city D in foreign country number 2 is not illegal. 5th freedom is about a foreign carrier operating domestic flights within the US (or vice versa).

You're right that you cannot buy a ticket on swa from Houston to Cabo to Mexico City because of 5th freedom and our one industry leading section in our contract (scope). But from a legality standpoint, there's nothing illegal about buying a ticket from Havana to Tampa and back (or to another non-US city).

this is literally what the plan was when I was hired. Use Costa Rica as a stopping point to go farther down south.

I’m not doubting you but riddle me this…. What does having a ramp control have to do with establishing a pilot domicile?

Just repeating what the Bob’s have been saying. They don’t want a 3 ring circus of people doing whatever they want with possible growth. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Bit late for that I'd say. The circus has been on tour for some time now.

Not denying that....with how busy that airport has gotten, it definitely needs a ramp control. Every other base we have the ramp is controlled by ATC or Ramp for the most part so maybe it's just something they want....
