Haha. You couldn't be further from the truth. I am living in one of the deepest red states in the country and am born and raised in the current ultra right wing paradise. My whole point is, every single large city has crime, drugs, and homelessness. There are definitely varying degrees of all of the above, but the people dissing on any places over their political news source of choice and not based on actually living there are morons. Doing it to someone's face who is from there (I have seen it repeatedly at SWA) is rude. You can insult your own home, not someone else's.

That rumor was here a long time ago. SWA could have bought Hawaiian with our profit sharing a few years ago but didn’t. I have a hard time believing in this rumor.

I get told every day by the press what a hell hole Florida is. NAACP sent a travel warning to minorities. Kamala just went to JAX and told a crowd of 30 that Florida teaches that slavery is good. Supposedly not mentioning gender theory to 3rd graders and below and/or allowing drag shows (or any lewd performances) in the presence of children is dystopian and backwards. Not allowing Disney to freely control a whole county while they bash the state government is bad. These are the daily doses of the "other than FOX" media.

Crime is bad in the cities because we have become a "tolerant" society towards drugs and crime. What you embrace, you get more of. The drugs that are flowing into our country are more powerful both in addiction and mind altering qualities than had ever before been realized. "Homeless" turn to drugs to dull the senses, but end up psychotic and/or criminals to support their habits. Many OD before they even realize what they have taken.

You see, I just don't let politics decide how I feel about a place. I am from rural Florida. Love it. I had an amazing childhood there. I vacation in California a few times a year. Also love it. Each state has its own amazing things and its own problems.

Everyone assumes I am some screaming lib because I call out my extreme right wing brethren who regurgitate the 24 hour news channel of their choice to anyone within earshot. I hate to disappoint everyone, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I just think for myself.

The point of my original reply is that most people who insult a place due to their political leanings have zero clue what they are talking about. Nobody has proven me wrong.

I still have some belief that this could happen. They just announced that they’re retooling their entire schedule, less shoulder flying and more longer routes coming in 2024. This would be their gateway to Asia/Oceania. They can already go south and even Europe w/ the 737 if they wanted to.
