Better to lose 6 yrs seniority now than to remain shackled for the next 10, 15, 20 years. Some things are more important than maximizing your W-2.

Wow! Some seriously emotional decisions… and all because of lack of patience.
Upstateny, you really wanna go back to 135 charter?! That doesn’t exactly come across as a rational decision, but good luck if you choose to leave.
Going to UAL? I was tempted as recently as February. It would have been an emotional decision, and definitely not a rational one. Even though I live in one of their bases, it would be financially irresponsible to go, especially considering their work rules and pay, and yes, that’s also taking into account upgrading right off probation.
But again… different strokes for different folks. The incessant negativity on various forums and social media aren’t helping, and in fact greatly contribute to some really questionable decisions with real life consequences. Now I’m not advocating for either staying or going. I am, however, advocating for rational decision-making, and not emotional.

But but but BoJo just gifted you 20% off a full fare ticket as an anniversary gift to all employees. If they still printed this stuff out, I’d wipe my ass with it and send it to the c suites. The koolies here sound like former SwaPulls who have jumped over the fence.

I should send mine back to bob. That way he can afford to ride us the next time he wants to get out of DC after a meltdown.

We buy tickets on AA for less than 20% off on us and it’s a much nicer experience. BTW, who wants to go to LBB when you can go to Europe?
I’d just give them to some friends or family but I don’t want to make them mad at me.

After years in the military reserves, I have good friends at HAL, DAL, UAL, AA, SWA, ALASKA, JB, CATHAY, ATLAS. I have never heard one of them complain about the culture of their pilot group. Pilots are pilots generally. All companies are corporations in the end, responsible to their shareholders, customers, and employees. Some companies put those priorities in different orders, but at the end of the day, all pilots are just employees hired to move customers from pt A to B. This post should be a lesson to those looking for the future, pick a company that offers you the best QOL and $$$$, because basing a job on any other perceived factors is a fools errand in the end.

Fake news. Next you are going to say SWA is not the only airline that pays premium pay on trips. SWA is the only airlines that gives the opportunity to get paid more than straight pay. I know that is a fact, they say it all the time in Dallas .

Meh. A lot of people are going to be disappointed to find out the grass isn’t all that greener at the other carriers… it’s just different grass. It’s a cycle. I didn’t come here for the culture or the deck parties. I came her for 3-on/4-off, and the ability to have a lot of time at home if I want. The idea of a 5-day trip makes me ill. I like flying domestic. I’ll take small town TX over Europe any day, but that’s just me. I voted yes for SAV, and I will walk on a strike if need be (done it once before in my career, and I’ll do it again if need be). I’m staying to fight for a better CBA. It’ll happen. A lot of us have seen this industry turn on it’s head more than once. When that happens (and it will again at some point), seniority will matter a lot
