FAs have an AIP...

I'm never going to understand all the hatred for the 737.
Back in my day we used to say we'd fly a 172 until retirement if the paycheck was big enough. It's a job not a flying club. Are there things I don't like about the 737? Sure. Would I make a career decision based upon its lack of a joystick and tray table? Not a chance.
Geez. What would these guys say if they had to fly a Metro or a Jetstream or a DC9? Because a lot of us came up doing exactly that and we were happy to do it. 🙄
(and yes, I'm as junior as they come and I RARELY see 4 legs and have never seen 5)

Not sure what’s defamatory about wanting industry standard hotel language. It’s a red line for me, but we will see how many other pilots think the same way.
1. When we block in, all I want to do is go to the hotel. I don’t need to wait 20 minutes before I start my walk to the curb where I can wait 20 more minutes to catch a van to a holiday inn by a mall.
2. Our work groups are different and have different needs when it comes to what we’d like in our hotels.
3. There’s already been one “clean kill” of a pilot’s career over a disagreement that escalated between an FA and a pilot. Sorry, but the risk vs reward of socializing with people I don’t know and having to defend my job from something taken out of context (even off the clock) is not worth it. The FA union was even advocating writing up pilots during COVID. I don’t come to work to make new friends…I’m here to work and get paid for my time away from my family and real friends.
This isn’t Herb’s airline and we aren’t hiring Herb’s employees anymore. No one in the people department is leading with love. I will do my absolute best to make sure FAs are looped in for reasons of safety and customer service. Outside any communications necessary to foster good crew resource management, I’ll be pleasant, polite, and laconic.
Thanks for being a hard worker and taking care of our customers.

I'd fly rubber dog crap in a 1900 if it paid over $300k a year and I drove to work. IDGAF about WB or ice cream socials in cruise. I want days off and pay. I get 15 days off on rsv in a 30 day month and any trip assigned is added to my guarantee. AA's AIP doesn't even get you that.

& if I was a new hire looking at SWA or AA, I’d rather rip my scrotum off without anesthesia than go do the domestic 737 up and down grind over flying a widebody schedule at any of the Bg 3. FUKDAT$H!T.

... May I recommend that if you like walking , there’s a nice walking area across the hwy in a wooded area that is shaded (ask front hotel -think it’s mt Talbert ) & Gustave’s across the hwy used to offer a solid happy hour in the afternoon & near midnight their time -with many German food items at happy hour prices ( lentil soup , cheese fondue & sausages )if it’s still open -I have not been in years
