How sad & discouraging to read these defamatory remarks . I’m just a visitor on site that likes to be educated & stay informed . Though many said comments are true , that fa’s don’t always have unity & info -there are plenty of us who “care” & try to make a difference . I’ve been here since the 10 minute turn , since I could go & help load bags & when my leader knew me by name . I’ve reopened the door at jet bridge to ensure a pilot got home for Christmas , sheltered & fed numerous employees who commute , saved a couple of lives through use of AED, notified pilots a few times of something unusual , only to find out there was a severe leak later , comforted numerous pax, babysat too many children to count & fed my crew members out of my bag ( I love to chef )i have given exemplary service, time ,& effort to a long career, while raising a daughter as a single mother (I averaged 150 Tfp +during college years) -I take offense at being called an aisle donkey -wouldn’t it be amazing if all 19.000 plus fa’s and pilots at swest & for that matter , all employees -united & supported one another -and gave respect as Herb said “treat each other with the Golden Rule” what amazing things we could accomplish -here’s to the pilots who lead with bad ass skill & kindness -who offer to help us get food , or sometimes clean , or offer an encouraging word

Not sure what’s defamatory about wanting industry standard hotel language. It’s a red line for me, but we will see how many other pilots think the same way.
1. When we block in, all I want to do is go to the hotel. I don’t need to wait 20 minutes before I start my walk to the curb where I can wait 20 more minutes to catch a van to a holiday inn by a mall.
2. Our work groups are different and have different needs when it comes to what we’d like in our hotels.
3. There’s already been one “clean kill” of a pilot’s career over a disagreement that escalated between an FA and a pilot. Sorry, but the risk vs reward of socializing with people I don’t know and having to defend my job from something taken out of context (even off the clock) is not worth it. The FA union was even advocating writing up pilots during COVID. I don’t come to work to make new friends…I’m here to work and get paid for my time away from my family and real friends.
This isn’t Herb’s airline and we aren’t hiring Herb’s employees anymore. No one in the people department is leading with love. I will do my absolute best to make sure FAs are looped in for reasons of safety and customer service. Outside any communications necessary to foster good crew resource management, I’ll be pleasant, polite, and laconic.
Thanks for being a hard worker and taking care of our customers.

13 year top pay currently is $63.30TFP, AIP would start it at $72.80 TFP.
4% NEC 401K—tied to an agreement that only one more chance will be given to FAs to join the Regular Plan in 2024.
Im guessing they planned to end regular plan for new registrants after 2024.

Sadly, it has come to the point where a pilot will most definitely be assumed to be guilty (on nothing other than the word of a FA) until he spends all of his own savings to prove his innocence...Even When there is Video proving the FA's all submitted false statements, the pilot will still get the 'Clean Kill' treatment. False statements? Not a problem, as long as you aren't a pilot. You can keep your job. Pilot, you are fired.
VP of Inflight told classes to write up pilots.
President of TWU 556 told FA's to write up pilots.
Are all FA's a threat, obviously Not. But the risk is nowhere near the benefit.
It is over. Herb's airline was shot dead and thrown in the ditch.
A cursory look at a Risk Assessment matrix shows that a situation with a Low Frequency/Probability with Catastrophic Outcome is still a HIGH Risk.
No offense to VanillaWafer, but the dynamics have changed drastically at swa.

I've gotta say that I agree with Zard on this issue.

Hotel section is already AIPd. It did not achieve seperate hotels, transportation, or automatic tfp for late or no lodging/transportation. Ask your Rep, they can tell you. Pre covid SEP data will be the answer you get.

I will admit, it really sucks standing there waiting for 25 minutes just to start my trip to the hotel. I look at that as my time.

The AIP we eventually get will not be adequate and will fail to address many of our needs. If they can’t even solidify separate hotels and better language, the tea leaves look brown. Will have to vote down the first one apparently…if it makes it out of the boardroom. SAIEW. As for their group, I’m polite and try my best to keep them safe and back them up while onboard. However, since Covid, the dynamic has changed greatly. I don’t socialize with them at all outside the aircraft. Their union and their company head had no issues telling them to write up pilots. Happened to me once during Covid . It was a total lie. Do you think the FA was disciplined? Nope. There also seems to be a hangover of “not feeling like serving” on many flights if the block is less than an hour. So, I just turn off the sign and smile. Separate lodging was a must.
