TWU556 was able to produce a TA with DL +16% compensation according to SWAPA.
What do you think the odds are the pilots get a chance to vote on DL +16%, let alone vote it down
SWA Dispatchers are the industry leaders in compensation, as is SWA MX.
Yet theres an entire thread on TWU556 being incompetent and corrupt.

sure some are beating the “I want the same % pay/retro the pilots get”….well, they’re not pilots and the NMB doesn’t really care what we negotiate when looking at a FA contract. They’re looking at what OAL FA’s get…because that’s the comparison.

It wasn’t the pay that was the issue from what I was told. It was RR, low per diem, and a bunch of other QOL issues. If they fixed that stuff and added a me too +1% for UAL/AA/AK/DL I’m sure it would’ve passed no problem.

What are rhe odds we even get a chance to vote on DL +16%...yet theres a ton of TWU judgement...that might be better spent on asking better of our own representation.

16% of DL would put us at $365/tfp for a 737-900 rate…which is more than DL pays their 757 guys by $44. At those rates it’s a big jump with added payroll costs.
Sure, they can afford it….but not when you add in all the other stuff we want (SWAPA has said over and over that any deal won’t cause the company extreme financial harm….why force a contract than can be wiped out in Ch.11?). NMB is going to be hard pressed to give you any kind of time of day to exercise any RLA rights when you’re demanding $60/hr more than your peers for the same jet along with all the other stuff.
You can stick to your guns all you want, but you’re losing out on the time value of money and you’ll never be made whole 100% with retro. Majority of us didn’t apply here and stay out of some desire to make more over a career than anyone else at the OAL’s. Our new cba has to close the gap to attract and retain people on the low end of the list…paying them 757 pay might just help with that as they’d be the highest paid yr 1-5 NB FO’s on the planet with our work rules.
I’ll read the damn thing before I comment which way I’m leaning….but some of you guys need a dose of reality on what’s attainable and what’s not. Make me the highest paid 737 pilot and I’ll be doing way better than I am now. If I want 767 pay…I’ll go fly a 767….i could’ve left to do that 8 yrs ago and didn’t for QOL. Not getting it now isn’t going to make me leave.

Look at the cost associated with that ask. A FA is an uneducated, unskilled labor group that tops out around $85/tfp. Lots of senior FA’s give everything away and don’t work for years so the payroll cost is low. 16% is like $15 at their scale.
