SFO controllers believe their little note in the atis affords them the ability to drop last minute runway changes on you and be immediately ready. It’s clear nobody in that tower understands the current procedures in most airline cockpits when it comes to a runway change, not that I’m surprised by this at all.

Not SW crews fault at all but its too late for that. The court of public opinion thanks to the media - seen at least 3-4 different news stories now - have decided that SW is to blame, and unfortunately that is what sticks, not the facts.

How does something like this make the papers or YouTube? Someone has to take the time (99% a pilot working a flight in SFO at this timeframe deciding to be a snitch) to report this incident to a local news outlet.
Either that or the FAA has a snitch who dislikes SWA. This happens daily at airports all around the country. Was it sloppier than normal? Sure. My 2nd ever 121 flight required a go-around due to traffic slow rolling it on the runway.
This is literally a hit piece lmao.

I guess it would be a good time to post this link here. It seems as though SFO tower is trending. Too bad I suppose there is no Southwest around to blame it on this time...

at my last place we had an issue with pilots misdiagnosing a good airplane into an urgent emergency, and it had thousands of views on YouTube very quickly. Of course liveatc didn’t have any of the follow up or backstory, so thousands of people assumed there was a big problem with the airplane when in fact it was a healthy airplane and the pilots just misinterpreted an indication. It happens, learning experience for everyone, it just didn’t used to get blasted all over cyberspace with incomplete info and no context like it does now.
