For me, that's only out of MDW. The rest of the time... hand fly to 3000' AAE at UP speed. to comply with the policy, then accelerate to 250 with autopilot on. No unnecessary chatter, no head down in the FMC, comply with the book, practice hand flying, and enjoy the silence while looking outside.

After the Lukewaffe Captain is done setting zeros on everything for no good reason, I’ll reach over when he isn’t looking and set 001 in his course window and 359 in mine.

Or 012 and 210 if I’m feeling spicy after reading a negotiations update.

it’s the little things

Remember when they used to leave the seats full forward on the 300, so you had to try and retract the darned thing so you could sit down when you got to the airplane? Whoever invented that seat adjustment contraption on the 300s should have been drawn and quartered… and there is a special place in hell for the nozzles who left the seat full forward for no good reason.

I just had a PTSD flash. Forgot all about that stupid seat until now. 😂

I think its stupid. And will be pleased when we stop ruining a perfectly good VNAV system.

Now I’ve gotta ask. What do 2L and 3L refer to?

Honestly, if you are hand flying above 10k it’s annoying me. Go buy a g/a aircraft if you want to get your hands right. I’m not here here to be your sudo auto pilot setting speeds and altitudes… all your flying is the flight director anyways. Go rent a 172 and make my job easier… 🤷‍♂️
