Damn right! I am already tired of hearing it. Usually it’s the PBS boogie man. Now it’s the recession boogie man. I will not take one concession or a penny less than an industry leading in all area contract. Eff the C suite. They took millions at SWA lowest points. FUPM!

I was just pointing out how since "they" mention recession multiple times during "their" town hall, one has to wonder if part of "their" plan in the back of "their" minds is to have a recession solve a few of the mismanagement problems.
In their mind: 1. Demand takes a breather to allow for them to catchup on staff/equip. 2. Supply of pilots explodes as few pilots are hired by competition. 3. The new hires that come onboard are again "just thankful for a job" and are generally more copacetic towards mgmts wants/needs. 4. All of the unions slow down as they become less willing to "rock the boat".
Personally, I hope we avoid any industry setbacks for the next 1.5 decades, as this has been the best negotiating environment the profession has found itself in for quite some time.

Just for clarification, I in no way expect the contract negotiations to go differently. I agree, plumbers rates have increased, and if you want a qualified plumber, you have to pay market rate.

Let’s hope a large majority of us won’t fall for the “recession looming, better not get too greedy” SWA playbook. I’ve seen it happen here over and over. I can guarantee there are a few in every base/seat that will still eat that up. The “state of the operation/airline” often gets blurred into our negotiations. One we can control..,.the other, not much at all other than crying uncle when we’ve been pushed into fatigue. They will fix the operation or they won’t. I’m focused on what I expect to be paid to deal with incompetence at a job I pretty much despise now. They’re going to pay me or I’ll walk.

We all saw how the leadership acted during 'the virus'.
10% with FM
1221,
Vax mandates
Massive executive bonuses immediately following a WARN for 1,221 pilots
etc.
The company showed its hand when they went full tilt money grab and threatened jobs when there was a little pressure.
The old southwest is dead and gone. It is just another company, plain and simple.
When are we asking for an impasse to be declared?
