While we are 1,000 days into negotiations, the more important number in terms of building leverage is 257 days since we filed for mediation. The average number of days in mediation of cases handled by the NMB over the last several years is just under 700 days. That's an important metric that the courts have established as to when the NMB might begin to start feeling some pressure to wrap things up on the basis of time spent in mediation. We will hit that threshold in August 2024.
Also, no TA yet could be a sign that the SWAPA NC is holding the line and not making any further compromises with the company. They are not required to do so by the RLA provided that they have demonstrated a subjective intent to come to an agreement which I'm confident they have already established.
If the SWAPA NC is standing strong, it increases the chances that: 1) either an impasse could be declared short of the measure mentioned above, or 2) the company will continue moving toward our position. Both options are positive for our pilot group.
