I've been to the lounge twice in the last few yrs. One to pick up my swapa lanyard and the other to get my bag flair.
It ain't that hard. It's not like we the people are really doing anything daily to improve our contract.
I'd like to hear someone tell a rep, or NC person or volunteer they cant be bothered to go to the lounge.
C'mon it's not hard.
Okay, “expecting” or whatever word you prefer. Just saying going down to the lounge might be a bridge too far for some folks. Could help explain the dearth of strike tags observed.

Honestly surprised of all people you would say this. It really isn’t that big of a deal to take 5 min to go grab the thing. I hate crew rooms with a passion but I left my house five minutes early that day and stopped in on my way to the plane. Had exactly zero people ask me anything while I was down there.

So when Casey told everybody it was time to be a Lion, they were like "cool! As long as I don't have to go to the lounge."

Um, I have a tag. Like I said, I asked somebody to get one for me.

Just saying some people may not bother to go get a strike tag if it involves going down to the lounge. I’m sure I would have made my way down there if I couldn’t have gotten one some other way. But maybe other people wouldn’t.

Simply speculating. Maybe that factor hasn’t dissuaded anyone. Maybe people really don’t agree with the sentiment of the tag. Maybe people think it’s too big. But if a lot of people aren’t displaying them, there’s a reason.

I’ve personally noticed quite a few of them out there but hearing you guys say not as many people are sporting them as we’d hope.

6 years in and I have yet to understand the "avoid lounges like the plague" crowd. I don't go there to schmooze with the chiefs, I fly weekend PMs so they're never there anyway. I don't go to schmooze with other pilots, not that there's anything wrong with that. I go, when I have the time, because I can take my tie off and eat some food in (relative) peace. Maybe drop a deuce in a non public restroom. And a couple weeks ago in Dallas as the storms were rolling through I caught a little nap in the snooze room during the delays. Not to mention I'm one of the first to grab whatever swag SWAPA puts out for us. Why are people so proud of missing that?

Sheesh. I had no idea this lounge thing was such a sensitive topic.

To each their own. I personally don’t like going down to the lounge. But you do. That’s cool. Who cares?

The only reason this came up is because I suggested it might (key word, “might”) be a reason you guys are saying lots of strike tags haven’t been picked up.

I hate the lounge because there are people there. I would prefer a George Costanza style nap area under one of the customer service desks in the terminal.

I go to lounges in other bases when I have down time or when waiting for the commute flight.

Fair enough, I misread what you had wrote. My apologies.

The bag tag is the new lanyard. But the SAV vote speaks for itself.

I see plenty around the system being used but also saw a lot still in the mailboxes in the crew lounge.
