SAV closes early

Well said.
Reminding people to "stay frosty" and, like both Delta and Alaska experienced after their similar SAV result, to expect a TA to be forwarded to the membership within a few months because it meets the now-obsolete goals of FP2020, does not equal "being miserable." The SAV and the outcome SWAPA just produced is awesome, and an especially big step for our pilot group, but it's not the end of the road.
If, within the next six months, the company presents an offer to SWAPA that meets many of the goals of the outdated FP2020, the discussion at SWAPA might become that they're obliged to send it to the membership for reasons like: A) not doing so could risk some sort of DFR claim against them, and B) FP2020 was all they ever advertised they were going to attempt to achieve. Their "mandate" from the membership doesn't authorize them to sacrifice members' time value of money and so on in order to pursue goals beyond those laid out in FP2020.
At this point, the company would be lucky to get away with a contract the only meets a significant portion of the targets set by FP2020. A TA like that would be less than what we can achieve in this environment. But you couldn't really blame SWAPA for sending it to the membership for the cited reasons. It would be up to the membership to vote it down and empower SWAPA with the leverage to go back for more and better if that's what the membership really wants when and if that happens. The membership might be just fine settling for FP2020.
Regardless of all of the above, we don't yet have the company up against the ropes. Though we have bloodied them a little bit, if we become overconfident now, we risk settling for less than we can achieve. We're not yet at "mission accomplished." We've seen how it can go when victory is declared prematurely.
If all of that is "being miserable" to RJS, then we're going to have to agree to disagree on that point.

No one is claiming victory or mission accomplished, but it sure is nice to see the SAV result indeed. And trashing our pilot group for past misses... well, you can't change history, but you can learn from it. At some point, you gotta have some faith in your fellow SWAPA brother or sister. Some of us have been crapping all over our seniority list and how our SAV was gonna be a huge disappointment, etc. And they've been proven wrong. At some point, motivation is good, but most don't find constant negativity to be motivating.

Those that don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it.
