Damn near unanimous SAV, and BoJo is talking about spirit parties, and celebrations. What an out-of-touch buffoon! Well... my expectation from the NC and the BOD is to keep saying NO, dig in, and keep asking for declaration of impasse. That SAV was the missing ingredient in 2016. Now that ingredient is here.
Also, the management playbook is out.... anyone with half a brain should be expecting the company to say how SWAPA is unreasonable and have them throw out a few items. Again, take the SWAPA management playbook and start checking them off right in public.
I do think that especially in light of this SAV, continually bashing this pilot group and "forecasting" should be put on hold. Who knows.... maybe a day less spent being miserable might be a good thing?

If I misunderstand this fine point, someone please correct me.
BTW, the best summation of the state of affairs at SWA to date, and my personal belief: “We don’t want to kill the golden goose, But We *Do* want to hear it’s Safety Word!”
nothin personal, jus bizness
It could’ve been a much easier swa management; but y’all chose the hard route

Oprah style Bonuses for all the members of the cool kids clique even after the latest meltdown
No investment in the operation
Caving in to small groups that have built stovepiped power fiefdoms of tribalism threatening the careers of members of other work groups’ based on proven false accusations with no recourse

So.....
Ratifiable means something different to everyone. Would the union send us something they think 51% would vote yes for? That's ratifiable.
will everyone be happy? Not a chance.
After listening to the podcast on the history of the union and how many times in the past pilots voted for concessions or no increases I'm a little worried also. Basically in the unions 45 yrs I think only 2 contracts were not a concession.
if I had been here as long as lew I'd be worried as well.
Flight plan 2020 is outdated already and in that there was too much rhetoric about helping the company as well. Think JAs. What is written in the FP is not even close to what guys are saying online or through social media.
remember how the platform was 1 billion short of what we were told was the floor? That passed by 86%
In just how much this group was willing to sell everything else for the ability to sell back their vacation worried me.
I think we'll do ok but I dont think we'll do what we need to.
Itll be as underwhelming as delta contract.

Reminding people to "stay frosty" and, like both Delta and Alaska experienced after their similar SAV result, to expect a TA to be forwarded to the membership within a few months because it meets the now-obsolete goals of FP2020, does not equal "being miserable." The SAV and the outcome SWAPA just produced is awesome, and an especially big step for our pilot group, but it's not the end of the road.
If, within the next six months, the company presents an offer to SWAPA that meets many of the goals of the outdated FP2020, the discussion at SWAPA might become that they're obliged to send it to the membership for reasons like: A) not doing so could risk some sort of DFR claim against them, and B) FP2020 was all they ever advertised they were going to attempt to achieve. Their "mandate" from the membership doesn't authorize them to sacrifice members' time value of money and so on in order to pursue goals beyond those laid out in FP2020.
At this point, the company would be lucky to get away with a contract the only meets a significant portion of the targets set by FP2020. A TA like that would be less than what we can achieve in this environment. But you couldn't really blame SWAPA for sending it to the membership for the cited reasons. It would be up to the membership to vote it down and empower SWAPA with the leverage to go back for more and better if that's what the membership really wants when and if that happens. The membership might be just fine settling for FP2020.
Regardless of all of the above, we don't yet have the company up against the ropes. Though we have bloodied them a little bit, if we become overconfident now, we risk settling for less than we can achieve. We're not yet at "mission accomplished." We've seen how it can go when victory is declared prematurely.
If all of that is "being miserable" to RJS, then we're going to have to agree to disagree on that point.
