That’s my way. I do walk arounds also. When I do these. I’ll be doing them after everyone is done below. I have zero concern of late departures. Our safety and health come before SWA.

One thing good about this place is fight ops. You will not get any heat, we have a lot of good CPs .

Amen..... Like getting rid of the crewbuddy and crewzapp, increasing reserves while loading up the hard lines with unsustainable amounts of flying, increasing hotel and transport buffoonery etc., the timing of this idiocy is suspect.

All part of the industry leading, general harassment program.

Is it too late for VSP?

Two simple words can fix most of SWA buffoonery.

For all those commenting that aren't SWA...I don't think the issue is the walk around itself. The issue is that it's on top of our multiple scheduled/unscheduled aircraft swaps and attempt at short ground time between legs (35-45 minutes) while not providing crew meals...so it's just 1 more time consuming task during an already compressed event. Good thing pilots control the parking brake...we'll go when we're ready and not let the schedule dictate our actions.

Uh, I was on the 717 for a while. We had the same kinds of trips, including short turn times and lots and lots (and lots) of aircraft swaps. A thorough walk around doesn't take that long even when you're dragging your feet because it's a nice day outside and a little exercise and fresh air is a wonderful thing. By the time you get back, paperwork is there and off you go. Pro tip: Don't step in the blue puddles.

I will grant you it's a little more fussy when you're picking up a jet from a swap and/or everyone is running late. Well, in that case, you get there when you get there, and be sure to take some time to get proper nourishment.

Exactly what I have seen done. Always. Every leg. Maybe some fly by night operation gets by without it. I even make certain on the Cessna 172.
