I am guessing that once the onion gets peeled back on this one, someone is going to have some explaining to do. It reeks of something that someone with a childish obsession with a certain news channel came up with over a few drinks and decided to spend a few boat payments on. The same guy probably got hired here because his dad was a captain but is screaming to anyone who will listen that we should be hiring on ability.
I got the links from a few of my buddies at SWA. At first I thought it was the bee. Then I visited.

I think it's awesome 👍👍 and whoever is responsible should be applauded.

We've got "men" pretending to be women entering women's sports events and crushing actual women. Latest was a weightlifter. So yeah it's 🤡🌎 out there and thanks to whoever did this for giving us a little levity

Personally, I don't want the company to be left-leaning or right-leaning. A dollar from a Bernie Bro is just as good as the dollar from a MAGA Dude and I want to welcome them both to fly on us. You don't do that by swaying to one side or the other... plus you're alienating a large group of your employees whichever way you choose to sway. That was one thing I really appreciated about the company in 2020 when the company expressly prohibited BLM masks and all that other nonsense. I don't want to see BLM paraphernalia at work just as I don't want to see the MAGA paraphernalia. We should be united under one banner at Southwest Airlines. DEI accomplishes none of that and only serves to alienate people and we seem to be losing the plot with respect to why we exist as a company and the basics of what made this company successful to begin with.
Satire, when done correctly, is very effective. You can accomplish a lot through humor.
When done poorly, it is lame. This website didn't even make me crack a smile. I just rolled my eyes and moved on. It's just more of the same venom from the anti DEI crowd that somehow feels threatened and is sending our CEO and COO emails stating that this is a communist plot to destabilize the country.

The key to happiness in this job is to come to work, do a great job, drop the pack and go home. Rinse and repeat. Get paid twice a month. Do union stuff. That's it. Don't bring your politics, religion, or sex life to work. In the end, it's only going to cause you pain.

Yet you can’t stop discussing politics yourself. This post below was just yesterday where you were hopeful SWA management would find the website author and have them probably terminated. Of course in your own twisted mind you assumed it was “something that someone with a childish obsession with a certain news channel came up with over a few drinks and decided to spend a few boat payments on.” That’s a very specific assumption you conspired in your head. I wonder what “certain news channel” you tune into to gather such a hatred towards a certain political belief. You made assumptions with zero evidence. Total scumbag behavior. No doubt if it was a satire left-leaning website trolling Southwest you’d be dead silent or downplaying.

I love how you attempt to act as if you’re the adult in the room, but just can’t resist to toss open ended threats in your posts.

Most of would love to not have to deal with politics at work and adopt the philosophy you stated above. The problem is the ever present DEI and LGBTQ crap constantly being shoved down our throat.

To liberals it’s live and let live unless someone disagrees with them then that person must be attacked and canceled.

There's undoubtedly a problem at the airline. Between the open mic incidents disparaging homosexuals, the "rolling coal" comment, FAs writing up pilots for behavior at hotels, the website and billboard. There's a segment of pilots that can't wrap their head around anybody that doesn't look or act just like they do.

It's no wonder the company wants to do DEI training... there's, what 60,000 employees? There will always be differences in groups that large. You can't expect everyone to share your world view.

This is a cultural problem that should be addressed in hiring and will likely only be solved by a generational shift.

Until then, it's best to just keep politics and religion out of the cockpit, and be careful what you say in mixed company. You don't know what the other persons beliefs are, what their sexual orientation is, or even the ethnicity of their family members. If something is shoved in your face that you don't like, ignore it and move on or change the subject. Be the adult in the room.

Look I get it. The pendulum swings too far to the left and right sometimes and maybe it's swinging a little far left right now. But we all have to work together, so let's just try and ignore the noise from the company and talk about things that we can all agree on regardless of our politics, like BBQ, vacations, cars, or even the contract. Show a little empathy or just walk away if you don't like the conversation.

This is going to get harder before it gets easier. We're on the eve of yet another election cycle that is likely to be contentious and noisy. Everybody will have their opinions and want to share them.

To which your answer should be changing the subject to more important stuff like,... "so you ever use one of them Big Green Eggs?" or, "Is that Fiat Spider just a Miata with Fiat badging?"

Not a WN guy, no skin in yalls game, but this is spot on for ALL of us. Hobbies, kids, and funny flying stories will always be better cruise convo than any of the hysteria of the day. Fly safe and smart yall.

Wish I could make this post into a bagtag or something.

Well said, Zap.
