We had a CAB guy on the Jumpseat during covid. He said one of the problems with getting nicer hotels is the FAs require fridge/microwave and some nice places don’t offer them.

Another reason for separate hotels and committees.

We stay at plenty of places with neither fridge or microwave already and they are some of the best overnights we have like GSP

but they’re available. he had some specific examples (ritz srq for one) that kept us from some nice hotels because those appliances are not available when they have a 5 star restaurant in the lobby.

Have you met literally anyone on the line that is a NO vote on SAV? I consider myself a relatively company guy and YES on SAV is still a no brainer. Genuine question

Ya, sorry, a fridge in the room is a big deal to me. I bring all my own food, primarily for health reasons.

Now, if the contract included language mandating access late at night and early in the morning to a restaurant serving healthy (organic, grass-fed, wild-caught, etc) food, then I wouldn’t need a refrigerator. But we know that’s not happening.

It’d also be nice if the contract mandated that the hotel have a full gym or be located within a 10-minute walk of a full gym with free admission.

We’re not at the Belmond anymore. Shame as it was one of my favorite overnights. I primarily go to Hawaii now so I don’t see what all the big fuss is about. Hotels are great out here!

Flew with a guy on the verge of retirement the other day. Full sick bank and picking up open time. He was a hard NO on the SAV….. couldn’t get a straight answer on why. I just scratched my head and sat in silence!!

I'm not an FA and I require a fridge. Microwave is negotiable.
