Paid Parking Coming Soon

That doesn't cover parking in my base. Others that would cover then some. Sorry $100 stipend won't cut it.

I’m biased though, came from 135 flying where I got a 250/night room allowance to pick my own hotel. If you’re coming from a regional you’ll probably think the hotels are decent.

Terrible, I’m one month out of training and one of the things that sticks out to me the most is the old dated hotels(after a full day of working your a$$ off). Maybe back in the day they were good but they are mostly garbage now. Old stained carpets, uncomfortable mattresses with rock hard pillows. But don’t worry you won’t be there long.

Call it 10% need to be replaced immediately, 60% plenty nice with no need to complain, and 30% super nice.

On several other fronts, I would really like allowances rather than the company choosing the supplier. Just like I don’t want them choosing what my per diem funds are spent on, things like parking and uniforms should be on an allowance basis.
This would allow the individual preferences to be accounted for and be a lower cost to the company from administering the program. This would also hush the folks that say “just include it in my hourly rate” (because it never is).

Are we talking mostly Hiltons, marriotts, hyatts in downtown areas or holiday inn express next to the airport?
I only ask because I rarely see southwest crews at the hotels I’m at. The only one I can remember seeing a southwest pilot at was in Kona at the Hilton.

been at a regional where the hotels all sucked, 91 where they were mostly great, and now 91k where it’s usually OK.

a little column a, a little column b. Big overnights like MCI/STL/BNA (our pseudo bases) usually have a couple of hotels. Some will be right next to the airport and some will be downtown.
places where there’s only one usually have a decent downtown option.
hotels change all the time and our contractual language regarding hotel standards are non-existent.
