Pfffft... go ahead and put us on ice. Meanwhile the company can fall further and further behind and have even more difficulty recruiting new pilots. I'm in no hurry. You go right ahead and press to test.

They clearly don’t understand that the mediator only has so much power to control the schedule of negotiations. The mediator cannot put a dispute on ice forever. I’ve written extensively about the detailed reasons why that’s the case in the past. Search the forum if you’d like to understand precisely why that’s the case.

Among other things, apparently their union, like our’s, doesn’t put quotes like the following on blast so that every single member has an appreciation for how the mediator operates:

IOW, the mediator can lie to your face - they can really do anything they want to twist your arm or ******* with your mind into agreeing - as long as it doesn’t involve literally committing a crime like putting a gun to the NC chair’s head or similar.

So, Delta fell for the mediator’s lies.

Successful SAV or not, we’re in danger of the same unless SWAPA steps up their educational efforts.

That's precisely what will happen here. Calling it now.

It's amazing how people who are supposedly smart can really fail at basic comprehension.

As always interesting read Lewbronski. I’m just curious why you left the compensation after the IRS limit out? The Delta system just flows into a 16-18% pay raise depending on the contract year. Does Southwest offer a similar pay increase once the limit is reached? In the scenario you laid out the Delta pilot will most likely achieve 401k overages earlier in their career and earlier in the year throughout their careers. That 16-18% could be significant of a 30 year career.

I and the entire industry are hoping you all great a fantastic contract. From the outside you and UAL seem most likely to have success.

Thanks.

The only reason I did it that way was to be able to make an apples to apples comparison with the UA contract comparison charts that were published by UA ALPA back in 2017 by using their same methodology (updated for 2023 IRS limits). There’s a thread about those charts here, along with a screen shot.

Thanks that makes sense. I hadn’t seen that thread. Again good luck getting a great contract.

This guy again. Can you stop condescending to everybody? I was a no vote, but that doesn’t mean I agree with you belittling the Delta guys. Not to mention that the people who voted to strike (including all the TA yes voters) actually WOULD have walked if it came to that.

The strike vote is pretty meaningless if you don't have the guts to call the mediator on their 'blarney' or 'hoomalimali' and press on with it. Let's face it, you folded after "being threatened" by the mediator and settled for much less than you should have gotten. And I get it... nobody likes being called out for their shortcomings or failures, but the truth is that the C-suites at all major airlines are celebrating your yes vote. Ours certainly is, and apparently so is United's.

But you're right. What's done is done.... I just hope that this pilot group doesn't fold like yours did.

Look how many can not be bothered to wear the SWAPA lanyard.
