Hello everyone!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I put a lot of thought into this and consulted with several friends and family, including AA buddies. Everyone gave me the green light (even my wife).
Yes, I was sitting reserve from my car, hanging out a lot in Vero beach lol
Yes, I will now sit reserve from my pool!
I don't care about giving up 16 years of seniority. As MCO captain I was 91% anyway, so to me, I am loosing nothing. I will move up faster in MIA starting over. Yes, I could of bid back to FO, which I did for a little, but that sucked.
And as far as the financials at AA, they are not going anywhere. Way too much of a powerhouse in the US transportation system for anyone to allow them to fold. Bankruptcy? Maybe. I can handle a furlough as I have a few side businesses. (This would not be happening without that)
So, trust me, I have thought all of this out lol

MCO captain resigned this week with 16.5 years on property at Southwest Airlines. He will now be one of the latest new-hires to join American Airlines.
Huge move. Wishing him the best for a happy and prosperous 2nd bite at the apple.
The hits keep on coming for the LUV airline.

Ouch! That’s gonna leave a mark.
