Default FO base seniority

Can someone post a NO BS assessment of how junior each of the bases are on the FO side. Specifically ATL, MCO and MDW? Maybe DOH for the most junior person in all bases ? Hope someone can help! Is 10 years to hold ATL realistic for an FO 😂

TIA

As mentioned above, all new hires are getting their base of choice after 2-3 months. In senior bases like ATL and MCO, they will be junior for a long time, but they are there.

Can't resist this. Go to DL. At the end of 30 years, under their current contract, you will be $2.5M ahead of where you would be at SWA in terms of total career compensation if you upgrade early. AND, you will be $1M ahead in terms of retirement contributions. That's on their soon-to-be-old contract. The difference is only going to become more pronounced with their new contract.

Doing some quick math, if you upgrade to the 75/76 at DL at five months, as some people are, then upgrade to the 7ER at 8 years, you will make roughly $10.65M in compensation over 30 years. At SWA, after an 8-yr upgrade, you'll make about $8.11M. That's just pay, not per diem, or other ancillary sorts of compensation. That's assuming crediting an average of 90 hr/mo at DL and 100 TFP/mo at SWA.

If you go to SWA, you're kinda saying it's worth a $3.5M hit to your net worth. Or, you could look at it like saying SWA is so much better of a place to fly for that it's worth you donating $3.5M to the company.

This is incorrect. The most junior SWA FO to hold ATL for March 2023 was hired in September 2022.

This is what your earning potential at Southwest looks like for your first 10 years as an FO at min guarantee:

1st Year $6,667 mo / $80,013 yr
2nd Year $9,641 mo / $115,695 yr
3rd Year $10,734 mo / $128,810 yr
4th Year $11,850 mo / $142,200 yr
5th Year $12,980 mo / $155,760 yr
6th Year $13,545 mo / $162,550 yr
7th Year $13,906 mo / $166,879 yr
8th Year $14,271 mo / $171,262 yr
9th Year $14,432 mo / $173,194 yr
10th Year $15,805 mo / $177,661 yr

Now go compare this to working at Delta.

Yeah, but at SWA at least you’ll get to fly the Guppy for the next few decades. 🙄
