Most lines are 12-13 days of work. There are some 11 days of work out there. All of these credit in the 90s. Good luck finding that at AA. There's not a big need to get rid of flying when you are only working 12 days a month.

Idk how many days a month a junior reserve captain at AA does every month, but I bet they are regularly crediting guarantee which is like 78 credit. Find me a senior FO that isn't flying 100 credit on 12 days of work a month.

Number of days worked being equal every month, the senior FO at SWA is going to make more money then the junior captain on reserve at AA.

I’m relatively senior. This is true.

“They” always said (in their good good ol’ boy, cutesy, Texas “drawl”), “Get you sum turn lines once you got yurself sum seniority. Then, [claps hands and rubs them together with glee] give all those turns away to junor bottom feeders and pick you up sum big fat permium tirps!!” “They” claim that’s the way to make 170 to 200 TFP each and every month.

Never worked out that way for me. TBF, there are guys here on APC who swear up and down they’re able to do it AND it doesn’t exhaust them. I wanna know what their supplement/drug stack is.

I have no idea how they do it. Makes me think I live in a simulation and those guys are NPC’s programmed to make me feel like my work life is one big gaslighting session.

1) I’ve found it’s literally impossible to do the >170 TFP thing except during the summer with two or more weeks of vacation in that month. 2) Otherwise, trying to get more than 140 in a month kills me. I end up sick and making tons of mistakes and filing lots of ASAP’s.

140 seems like way too high of a target. Ya if you’re a crazy worker you can make some really good checks. It seems like 100 is a pretty good target and low workload. Live within the means of 100 TFP a month and everything is gravy.

.

Junior CA at AA is on for 18/30 days and are capped at 85 but most likely getting 73/76 with no realistic shot at OG or PR pickups

Edit: I’ll also add you can come to WN and the pilot group cares about the 1221 WARN notices or you can go there and the 1300 they actually furloughed during Covid is either ignored or just shrugged off as business as usual.

True. That’s why I hardly ever go for that. Takes a lot of effort. That’s 14 days of flying at all premium or 17/18 days of flying straight, high-paying trips.

I’m just barely above 100 for January and already exhausted. Will end up being 13 days of flying if nothing changes before the 31st.

140 is not unrealistic for any line holder to maintain. You will work an extra 3 days a month on average to pull that off. If you don’t mind working 15 days a month, it’s easily doable. Anything more than that is pretty tough.
I don’t know how anyone pulls 180 on the regular.

It is very easy , just dedicate your life to flying out of every single base and not having any life outside of work.

I do not understand how the FAA allows somebody that ended a trip that they flew out of BWI to then be legal to fly a trip that they picked up in OAK 11 hours later .

I average 140tfp every month. Got a STC trip this month, that helped a lot. I'm at 144 worked 15 days and had 7 RONs. I could easily do 160 as tomorrow is my last day of work for the month. I'm 60%+ seniority. Living in base is key.

I don't live by the phone or computer. You have to use all the tools. Read the newbie thread for tips.

That supplement/drug stack is our contract. Just as Scheduling can screw us left and right, if you think outside the box, you can screw them too.

All starts with what kinda lines you bid for. If you're like some of my buddies who will fly dense and high block lines just to get a specific layover, and then complain how they're not legal for anything, well... it's kinda self-inflicted.

You can always lose a trip in the overlap by forcing illegality. There goes a 3-day or a 4-day. Use ELITT to create space during high demand times - usually weekends.

Here's another useful tidbit that works when they're fat on reserves and only award straight - pay attention to STC'd trips with multiple DH's attached. Putting those back together can and often does pay better than premium.

When we're fat on reserves, trade with a junior commuter for his/her reserve block and put a PASS. Decent chance you won't fly. You can check RCO's ahead on SWAPA website.

And now I broke the rules of the Fight Club.
