This company was built on better and now is facing decline. All the leaders are gone and we are left with bean counters.
So if pilot quality of life is of no importance to the business, their choice of schedule and route structure is of no importance to me, nor is their ability to recover it.

There is definitely movement in the FO ranks in MCO. Not the case on the Capt side and that is unlikely to change soon, if ever.

It's getting to the point we are ready to shut it down just to spite them. I'm all for a shut down even if they offer everything we can imagine just to show them they cant do this anymore.
I've never seen such a PO'd group before.
I've been waiting for some airline to win bigly. It sure looks like we are the last to do the heavy lifting

A strike would do wonders for our relationship with management going forward. They’d finally take us seriously and hopefully not press to test next time.

The Mechanics went on strike for 5 days in 1980 and after that, for as long as Herb was CEO, they were the most respected/feared union at Southwest. Now the bean counters just consider them another group that they unfortuneately have to deal with.

Agreed. This company is stuck in the same era as our IT. A jolt like a pilot strike may be just what is needed.

1980 was 43 years ago. Perhaps the management/labor relationship needs a “jolt or reset” every now and then seeing how they insist on using the RLA to drag out negotiations as long as possible.

I’ve seen this rodeo before at my first regional. We were p!$$ed and determined. They had their heads in the sand and didn’t think we’d do it. Well, we did. For 89 days no less.

This rodeo is more and more eerily similar.

Rerouted to BWI overnight, rooms available at the Westin which is a SWA hotel but they have us staying at Best Western. -"Pilot quality of life is of no value to the company."

Yup. Im quickly getting to the point where even if swa agreed to every single SWAPA ask I’d still want to shut it down.
