SWA: “Improving our pilots quality of life does not benefit the company”
Delta: “We understand that quality of life to our pilots is important, whether at home, on the road, or even during training….”

Why anyone would want to come work here is beyond me. From pay to how they treat us is beyond SUCK

They don't want to commute or move, which is completely understandable. The irony, given that they are MCO based, is that they'll have to do one or the other in order to upgrade in under ten years. Once they get back to MCO, they'll be perpetually junior, as the senior folks bid in a few years prior to retiring, which, barring FL turning blue in the next few years, is unlikely to change. Being perpetually junior will also eat into career earnings.
It's a personal choice, but they're (very likely) giving up, literally, million$ in pay/retirement alone by choosing to stay here, unless they work their butts off to make up the difference. They're not gonna come close just flying their line for their entire career.
Our disability benefits are also industry lagging, difficult to navigate and borderline criminal IMHO. Don't get me started on hotel and associated transportation or lack thereof.
Comparing a career here to one at a legacy is apples and oranges and always has been.

Most newer folks that I've asked say it's because of our bases.

i may be giving up millions, but then im giving up millions by not doing a myriad of things. So many in aviation revolve around earnings potential, it blows my mind. Even though I may be leaving money on the table, I expect Ill still make more than enough to provide a very nice standard of living for my family. I agree there are things that need to improve in the next iterations of the contract (and I will strike to help bring it about), but this place is far from the bottom of the barrel from what I can see. Next time you think you have it bad, go talk to an allegiant pilot.
Who do you think is running this airline and making all the decisions?

Happy Independence Day!
If you are at work, the company is stealing from you.
Our contract could already be signed, sealed and delivered. That new contract will undoubtedly pay us holiday pay on Independence Day (along with a number of other Flight Ops designated holidays). This is another way that by allowing these negotiations to needlessly drag out, Bob Jordan is reaching into your pocket. If Bob really LUVed you, he would stop stealing from you.
