…And AA had 5745, 3009 probably common to SWA and similar to the other majors, and I’d say that SWA is the backup plan for 3000 of them. There are probably fewer than 10k total pilots applying to the majors, a huge swing from the 50-60,000 in the early 2000’s, with demand at an all-time high.

There is no reason for even one concession!

WN needs to hire 3 out of ever 2 they interview.


No wonder they changed the hiring from over 2k next year down to 1k

Additionally I would assume a not insignificant percentage of those 3009 are already hired here or elsewhere.

Number 1222; yesterday, a captain on his fini-flight was rerouted off of it and then JAd into what was supposed to be his first unofficial day of retirement, according to someone who had talked to him.

Years ago I witnessed a guy getting a random drug test right after he landed on his final retirement flight lol. All his party guest were waiting for him in the pilot lounge 😂
