Yes, I checked TTGA first, and picked up a trip or two yet still fell well short of min guarantee. And people try to tell me I'm somehow the problem when I pick up a turn at straight time after coming in 10-15% under min guarantee for the last 5 months? Here's a bag of d!ck$...
I wish nothing but the best for you and yours but please understand you are the exception and not the rule. Every day at work I’ll check the open time awards. Strangely it’s 50 percent board blockers out of HOU/DAL/MCO that bid straight time. The other large percentage are same bases with boards open, those guys are well over 150 to 170 and have been for months. Those are the ones that are the problem children. One dude is an FO out of LAS who consistently is at 170 or so with 6-8 days off a month and he is bidding straight. His type is the issue.

i don’t bid OT since the WARN letters and I will not till Carl is spending more time with family.

Exactly! There are times to bid straight, and time not to.

flensr is definitely the exception and bidding straight under those circumstances is certainly understandable. Prayers sent for the family.

That said, this past weekend in MCO Capt, we had a minus 19 DTC on Saturday, there were 25+ trips of every flavor in giveaway and they were awarding Premium. There were a few guys bidding straight, and I know that none of them are in flensr's situation.

One guy was bidding straight on every single trip in DOT, but wasn't awarded anything, so I assume it was either an autobid faux pas, or he was playing games. He's one of the usual straight bidders and he's pretty senior.

As always, we are our own worst enemies...........

That's negating at least a 1 or 2 months of hiring....not insignificant.

If you want some entertainment go peruse the SWA FB page. SWA announces a big 40% off sale and no one can book tickets. A lot of people bring up Christmas meltdown, tech debt, flying Delta now, 2 hour holds for customer service, etc. Where is the volunteer Army when you need them!?!?!

12 mo UAL FO on JS. 27 yrs old, on 737 in Den. Can hold CA on 737 any base. Going to 777 FO in Aug. New hire friends getting 777 out of training. Had a friend that went to training on 320, never flew the jet, now in 777 training. Never considered SWA. This is what it is but a crappy contract IS why pilots dont apply here, dont show up for interviews, turn down class dates, or leave after getting here. Career earnings differences for a 27 yr old at DAL and UAL are in the millions. Plus different equipment, international flying, and spending last 20 yrs as a widebody CA.

Classic!

SWAPA puts out yesterday that a new hire class at Delta with 16 Plumbers who left SWA didn’t get paid correctly at the end of their time with SWA. And SWAPA isn't sure if ALPA should bill SWAPA or if SWAPA should bill ALPA for the representation!

Enjoy the Yo-Yos and Lolli pops from Flight Ops Plumbers!

Yo-yo’s and lollipops are almost as good as the guy who retired from a Burger King restaurant after 27 years without ever missing a shift and got a gift bag filled with a couple of pens, two rolls of Life-Savers candy, AND! a bag of Reese’s peanut butter chocolates.

In both cases, our’s and Burger King’s, the corporate disdain for its employees is clearly evident.
