Even then most of the 3 days I fly are really 2.5 days: late enough start day 1 that I have the whole morning and early afternoon at home or whatever. I do wish we had a true "reserve" system where I could sit home more often than not, but if that were the case it would arguably go senior in which case I might not be able to hold it anyway. I understand having the option of multiple fleets and widebodies is good for the gander, but for me living in base and barely working is pretty darn good. And if we can get finally get a top tier contract (it might happen!) it will only get better.
This is the same boat I am in. I prioritized not commuting and qol above pretty much everything else. I could care less about the long haul international stuff even if it is easy money in terms of flying. I accepted that I would be an FO here longer than just about anywhere else, but anywhere else I would be commuting for YEARS more and when the upgrade came I would be commuting as the plug for even more YEARS. I gamble I can make more here, with a better qol with a short drive to work than I could working anywhere else, sans moving.

Sure we have our issues, I am a yes vote next month and will walk the walk if it comes to that, but this place does tick a lot of the boxes for me. I will also add that so far, every single person that I have interacted with here has been great. Perhaps it is base specific but I would say 99.5% of our employees especially the pilots are good people.

A lot of new hires voting with their feet and quitting SWA, here are some more reasons to Not work for SWA:

-Golden Rule non existent

-The culture that was promised isn’t here

-Contract expired for 945 Days

-Career earnings higher elsewhere- potentially even after a new contract.

-Quality of life sucks

-Ridiculous early or late hours EVERY day of the trip and the JA and skysolver re-routes.

hasnt that been going on for a while? rode with a UAL newbie. 2 months in, still not done with training on the 777 already at 80% in base and can upgrade once he gets 500 hrs.
the FO is 1 yr on property got 787 FO out of DEN.
anyone of us could go there, get 500hrs company time and upgrade. Or be a wide body FO sit reserve and not get used or travel around making money in a bunk

WB elites don't like to call the 767 a WB plane because it only goes to Europe daily and doesn't pay the absolute highest rate.......
