Making excuses for the company furlough attempt AND blaming the union for everything!

You aren't doing a very good job because it's so obvious..... maybe you should go back to schilling school.

I don't understand the purpose of defending the company so staunchly. No, nobody got furloughed. I did, however, have to quickly figure out what to do in case I did. It was something I didn't think I would have to ever consider, but was proven wrong. It was the biggest wake-up call I've had since I started here. But f me and the other 1,200+ that had to consider that a few years ago, since the company didn't actually go through with it? I guess it was no big deal. Sure didn't feel like it at the time.

Those letters were a wake up call that SWA had entered the "big boy" arena of air carriers. For decades, pilots had accepted the no pension, all 737, great culture carrier for slightly less wages because they never furloughed. Those letters were the first confirmation that SWA would do as all other corporations have done in the past, cut for survival.

No carrier furloughs until they do. Delta went 60yrs from 1930s till 90's without furloughing, then they did. Once a corporation reaches a certain mass, the only way it can quickly reduce expenses is to furlough, and therefore all coporations (despite the rah-rah rhetoric) will furlough if their existence is threatened.

I would be more concerned that the company was falling marching orders from the US goverement and was willing to fire over the half the pilots if they did not get the prick and were was the union on that? Oh, they were Pro Choice they claim. That is a big laugh.
Oh hey, 5tools. Are we working this topic now?

Looking back no one got furloughed. But the company would have for the sake of FM except the pilot group called them and PPP gave them a way to back out gracefully.

At the time we didn’t know how it would go and it was very stressful for us and our families, and we felt betrayed by a company that said employees come first and sold us on job security.

I was safe by a slim margin and in fact was in truck driving school preparing for a back up when the list came out.

As for you making light of what your fellow pilots and their families went through because a real threat to our job security and home life didn’t materialize is totally scab-like and shows what a scum bag a company shill like you really is.

Shouldn’t you be picking up premium, showing pictures of your boat and figuring out how you’re going to spend the retro? Go back to your cubicle.

Wow...
A lump just before Xmas, hundreds of planes parked (thousands worldwide and retired), no jobs to be found, the world had stopped.

You're looking back years from your armchair... user name checks.

I'm voting NO just to counter you!
