1,221 Reasons Not to work for Southwest
#1781
Respectfully, each workgroup has bad apples. We still have many of the old school SWA group that try to provide fantatstic service (with what they have). Many, like my wife and nieces, are as disappointed with the laziness and lack of respect for our guests as any one of us.
I absolutely agree. I did not mean to offend the ones that bend over backwards for WN and the customers . If it was the Olympics, I would say we have the best flight attendants in the industry. Our Best FAs would win the gold in every event . That said, we have more than a few bad apples, most of our cart is rotten.

They are becoming a cancer at this place. They do not want to do a service ever and then the pilots turn off the seatbelt sign , they get ****ed because now the passengers have a good reason to ask why they are not dong a service . Dallas needs to get it together and start ghost riding .
Simply put, our service sucks
Simply put, our service sucks
They have been without a contract since 2019, they should follow the contract to a T. You complain about the FA management coming after pilots, have you seen what they do to their own? Screw that. If I was them I wouldn’t do one thing outside of the contract.
Think about this BTW. They are over a contract cycle behind. 2019 was the amendable date, they are due up in 2023 yet 2019 hasn’t been done. The moving cargo is collateral damage that are in the way because of Bob and his merry men.
I sit on my phone in the cockpit between flights. I don’t help anyone nor do I care to help anyone. I don’t judge others for doing the same. This is what Dallas wants. They want complete 100 percent control of the operation. Let them have it and see what happens.
We sat waiting for a pushback crew in LAS the other night. For 42 minutes. We made 2 calls to ops and 2 ACARS to DAL and just sat. It is not our job to fix the issue. Had a guy waiting for our gate for the last 20 minutes. When pushback crew showed up said he was unaware a plane was at our gate. We just laughed…
STOP doing everyone’s else’s job. STOP criticizing other work groups. Just STOP! Your job is clearly laid out in the FOM, fly the plane.

Our FA troubles have nothing to do with a contract. It has everything to do with corporate hiring priorities. We search the globe for the worst people. The ones that are excellent are truly excellent but I think they are the few and not the norm. Covid exposed the management’s complete loss of control of inflight. I, personally, want nothing to do with the flight attendants outside of professional requirements. I’ll never understand how the excellent ones continue in that work group. I’m glad they do though…

I am truly embarrassed anymore to say I work at this place.. I do not want to go to the same hotel as them. When their leader is encouraging them to write up pilots, it is time for SWAPA to put its foot down. I understand I have to work with them, I sure do not want to see or be around them after hours .

Hey all, just wanted to add my 2 cents. I am one of those that has quit in their first year to redder pastures. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff in this thread really resonated with me. When I came to WN, I bought into the whole culture thing, and thought it was going to be different. Obviously, it wasn't. If you're thinking about making the jump, do it and don't wait. (almost) all of the pilots I flew with were awesome, really a good work group. Wish yall nothing but the best, but tbh, it felt great turning in all my stuff.

This is a Dallas issue and not an FA issue on the whole. EVERYTHING that has been stated on this many other threads are all Dallas issues. Let them run this place into the ground anyway they want, tough love is needed if you ever want to have autonomy back in flight ops.

Update new departure time in ACARS. It updates within seconds. That way you make the decision easy for the FAs.
