No anguish whatsoever. It is nice to see people like you post on here. It is you and others like you (CK ) spreading misinformation that brings this group together. I sincerely mean it when I say Ty. Thank you.

If anyone already has a hard no or yes before they have seen the potential TA has been released to be read…..are misinformed zealots and shouldn’t be allowed to vote IMO.
Wait to see the totality of the agreement before you cast your vote, what an amazing concept.
Pilots, some of the stupidest smart people I have ever met.

This is unacceptable, especially considering the many issues that came up during covid. The union warned us about issues at hotels and in vans and then failed to codify any language that could protect us from the situations they warned us about. That section needs to be un-AIPd and language has to be written concerning long/short, hotel standards, actual edible food availability, mixing of crews, etc.

Hotel language was one of the hard no issues for me in all polling back to the beginning. They have not developed hotel language, so my vote is no.

My rules on an RON
1) I don’t fraternize with anyone from work
2) I don’t eat or drink at the hotel facilities
3) If anything gets in my way of rest I fatigue at check in and not a minute before hand.
4) I fill out the hotel forms on mobile 365.
I would rather get a benefit to myself than waste some leverage to benefit the company. Hotels are a benefit to the company. If you don’t get adequate rest call in fatigued. It’s a self correcting issue using the levers of justice we have available to us.
BTW that warning from the union about hotels was not directed at everyone. It was directed at a certain group of people at this company that thinks we are a family and can hang out together. We are NOT a family. Never have been and never will be. We all work together and that is it. Stop acting like we are a family and treat them as worker bees things get along better.

Honest discussion here. Have you had issues at hotels? Do you normally hang out at hotels with FAs? Do you talk to FAs? Name one hotel we don’t have access to food? I am serious. I bring my own food and I have never talked to an FA outside of the airplane or airport (even then it is only work related). I come to work to make money and not to socialize. I do not want negotiating leverage expended on dealing with an issue I do not see as an issue.

At the Crowne, MKE. We got in late and the restaurant chose to close for the fourth and the “market” was a display with candy, cookies and chips. There was no nutritious food available there or nearby the restaurant chose to from. The restaurant also closed for breakfast the next morning.
Twenty hours at the airport Hilton, AUS with nothing around but a parking lot.
Marriott MEM east, long overnights totally enclosed by freeways.
These are just some of the issues that need to be addressed.
The RSW Crowne issues and the hotel that made pilots walk next door for running water have already been mentioned. That’s a fatigue call from me, but it shouldn’t get that far and it wouldn’t if standards were codified.
The crappiest regionals have actual hotel language the ensures some standard for overnights.
Now there are the FA issues. Like you I don’t hang out with crews, but having to wait 30 min or more to get to a short overnight is unnecessary.
Your point that this will take away some other benefit is moot, in this environment there are no concessions or compromises. We can get everything we want and SWAPA is remiss by not demanding everything they can.

That’s good you do that, but we shouldn’t have to bring our food and sequester ourselves. There should be language like every other carrier has to ensure hotel standards.

It’s getting close because the emails for the company about weekly negotiations is getting shorter and more direct. They still are far off on certain things though but don’t worry OT is still being picked up at record rates, I’m sure a deal will be imminent….(sarcasm off)
I dont bother with looking at daily open time anymore, just the TTGA.

There is nothing for free even in today’s negotiations so hotels will cost you compensation. You want a change of hotels stop going to work hungry and tired because of crappy hotels.
I’m not arguing the hotels are great but they would be better if people actually complained officially and not on some Internet forum. My biggest response from the hotel people usually starts with a “I am sorry about your experience at _________. Please be assured we will inquire about this but be aware this is the first complaint about ________ at this location” Don’t tell me I am the only one actually trying to work within the system to get hotel quality addressed. BTW after 3 years of a report every time at SMF West Arden it’s nice to see we stay at different properties most of the time as we wind down operations at that crappy hotel.
While I would like it addressed I am not willing to sacrifice anything for hotels. Nothing. Nadda. I am under the belief that nothing is free and while we have the upper hand this cycle it is not unlimited because if it was I want 1000/TFP because unlimited is truly unlimited.

“Man, I hope we keep that in the contract going forward!” he said, sarcastically.
it’s a great incentive for the company to do absolutely nothing about attrition and to overhire.

Problem children are sitting in the left seat, not FOs. Every single day it’s the same thing….
Look at yesterday
CPT 106 SOT/POT and 70 reserves.
