1,221 Reasons Not to work for Southwest

Good grief fellas. Go trick or treat with your kids. Relax and let the process play out. You're ****ed off before you even have anything to be ****ed off about. Go rake some leafs or take a drive and listen to 80s power ballads or something. Find your happy place. There will be plenty of time to be mad later if the TA doesn't check all the boxes for you and your family.

Ahh the irony. Sorry, seen this play out at this airline too many times. I can take a dump and post here at the same time. Why wait for the TA when that could be too late? TA1 last time was close to passing and the company got greedy. TA2 was industry lagging the day we signed it. Many are getting fatigue and just want their retro and rates. I love how guys like you think trying to make this a Leading contract makes people unhappy or not spending time with family. Yet you are doing the same thing while giving your sage advice.
have you seen all the questions about when our retro will get paid, when can we vote etc?
There is a lot that needs to be un AIP and re done based on current situation not polling from 2019.
I'd rather make a stink now when it can be changed rather than sit back and say I told you so after.
It's being pro active. I've already seen enough to be a no vote.
I'd like to be a yes vote. I'm engaging my reps and NC so I can vote yes. I'd suggest everyone else do as well before I have to vote no

True, but I’m not getting my panties in a twist about it quite as much as you are. 😉
Seriously though. The good idea train has long since left the station. Talk to your reps. If it gets past them, vote your conscience. No point in getting all wound up about it.

Now it's done and we wait to see what SWAPA is able to bring to the group. If it doesn't meet your needs you vote no.
If it gets ratified and you still aren't happy, that sucks but we all are just one voice in 11,000.

isnt that what the SEP process was about? We had a new survey every month for 2+ years to basically tear the CBA into pieces and make our demands of the new one.

Zap isn't wrong. We are past V1, my dudes.
Once this thing gets thrown out there, I plan on picking it apart with a fine toothed comb, as will others. I am sure there will be some feisty discussion. I don't think we are going to like everything about it, but it needs to reflect the market conditions, which are amazingly in our favor. Next negotiating cycle probably won't be.
My opinion only, unless this is spectacular (and it may be, not sure yet), I think it's headed towards another round of negotiations. With all that being said, I may like it. If I do, I'll vote for it.
No fatigue here. My wife doesn't even know I am getting retro and I won't tell her until the day it arrives in our account (or maybe not even then?).

Of course pilots are going to speak up and try to salvage a worthy contract. Because NOT doing so means voting down a deal and more time with a lagging contract.

What if the information from SWAPA about already AIPed sections is falling short of membership expectations?

And what's industry-lagging to you may not matter to others, or what others may consider to be industry-leading won't matter to you because reasons.... When it comes out, pick it apart, have a lively, respectable debate and cast your vote.... or you can be the idiot that votes yes (or no) without so much as reading it or allowing the NC to try to explain it to you.
11k + different opinions and priorities.
