Another base besides BNA will happen in 2024. My guess MCI or STL.

or

B) HOU base with IAH co-domicile with 740 pilots per seat with the onus and pressure on the company to get more gates and revenues out of the co-domicile?

Which one gives you greater seniority, gets you off reserve quicker through movement, gets you progressing quicker and gives you more commute options?

It seems like pilots are making this out to be a concession simply because the company asked for it. It is a negotiation, just because the company wants it doesn't automatically mean it is bad for the pilot group, especially if we put lots of guardrails on the language to benefit the pilot.

EXACTLY. Can we just wait to see the language before making a judgement about this? It’s utterly ridiculous reading some of these posts.

This. People are just complaining to complain at this point and we have no idea what we got for it. This could very well turn out to be a turd, but it is way too soon to tell. I can't see SWAPA agreeing to this and not getting something pretty juicy in return.

And definitely not being the hill to die on one way or another…. This issue is sprinkles in the grand scheme of things.

Ah yes...the dreams of explosive coterminal growth have already blinded many to the unintended consequences.

Last minute Company ask. Not polled. What could go wrong.

Why even consider any concessions

This.
We are doomed to repeat history.
"We need this to grow" = a promise that is worth nothing.
How did that 800 SL work out for us?

Vote yes now and we promise explosive growth! The koolaid enema crowd is already spending their retro and can't wait to vote yes.

That is a straw man argument. This provision isn't tied to any growth metrics. They can shrink Houston, grow DFW, and when the economy is in recession during our next negotiation, come for the DC and LA basin.

And yeah, I think the 50 percent that commute have more of a say than the guys who decided to move to the Woodlands. Sorry. That's how voting works. Anybody selling this as a gain hopes to save 30 minutes off of their commute at the peril of thousands of pilots who stand to lose from the deadheads and QOL we would be losing. Not my fault they decided to move an hour away from Hobby.

The fact is, nobody asked for this from our side. It wasn't really polled, which apparently is the hold up for separate hotels and other items. The company has pulled the football a couple times in the past on deals like this, so there is no trust. It's sudden and is a big change that can be taken advantage of by the company. Study the history here. It's rich with betrayal. The union trying to sell it already erodes my trust even more.

I get it. Negotiations are taking a long time and about half of us haven't voted on a contract here yet. Do a little digging into the past before you decide to cast that vote. The SWAPA forum is a snake pit, but a good place to get a history lesson.
