The weak link has been evident for years now as Southwest has had a number of meltdowns, with ever increasing severity. You'd hope that this time the lesson was finally learned but the fixes will be expensive and will take time. Basically every system and tool that employees use needs to be updated as the legacy tools were developed for a much smaller and different airline. So you can't be confident it's going to be fixed, and it certainly won't be fixed "now".
Yup....... Sadly, it appears that not much is actually being done yet, beyond lip service.

To be fair, it sounds like some RFIs were given to the big software vendors before the meltdown (based on the pilot townhall)...which considering the amount of time BJ and AW have been in charge is reasonable. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Implementing large software projects is a long process and that's why GK was so negligent.

Whack. When did you get hired at Comair. You remind me of a guy in my new hire class. I was March of 97.

I thought this was a joke at first, but Southwest Airlines actually spent resources on a Bob Jordan Bobble Head doll for employees to purchase!
