I was thinking about the SWAPA forum. The reality is, no newhire is going to spend time digging through old posts.
Is there a way to capture that in a pretty picture? We like pictures.
Say we made a line chart…it could have a years across the x axis, and the values we pick up the y (maybe % of change from the baseline starting value).
I’m thinking out loud here…
We could use:
Company profit
Avg hourly
Avg duty day
Retirement
Profit sharing
Number of pilots
Avg pay at competitors
Essentially, if we could create a picture that tells the story of working at WN over time that would be an effective way to communicate what has happened.
I have no idea what all would be included in the chart, or how to gather that data. Frankly SWAPA should have done this years ago (and maybe they have).
If it doesn’t exist already…if someone can gather whatever data exists, I can build the chart. Or anyone who knows the bosses at SWAPA could suggest it which would make it legit.
You want to get people on board? Show them a chart where company profits are trending up at a higher rate than the pilot factors.

That's a preview of why we are ****ed off and need a contract while others are getting TAs and AIPS... we get "Well, we couldn't agree on seniority" ...so we spent 10 days reviewing blah blah blah...

TBF, though I’m not optimistic, SWAPA could be angling for a release from mediation where the other groups didn’t. That takes time. And, IMO, this latest round of TA’s/AIP’a doesn’t even come close to reflecting the leverage that could be wielded by a pilot group if they were to truly drive toward presenting the credible threat of a strike.
Both Alaska and DL had impressive SAV’s, but then failed to push forward from there. They both balked.

Great list.
I would also like to add:
’Unscheduled Overnight’ -or-
Junior Assigned
Squeeze the Balloon
Training Scheduling
Anyone here needs to read the $12,000,000,000 letter posted on the SWAPA forum. Great read, the guy who wrote that did some serious research. It really pulls the curtain back on what GK did to this company.

I can't imagine why any of you are engaging with this guy, at best he is a troll just getting his jollies from trying to get you riled up. At worse he is a Ford and Harrison plant, in which case the best thing we can do is not respond. No point in giving clicks to the enemy.
In either case it's probably best to just ignore him.
