Hiring 2023
#122
The timeline to spool up an instructor is so darned long I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to hire a few instructors per month into perpetuity for planned attrition.

Was at the school house today and asked CM directly about the 'low show/no show' class numbers. He said they are a complete fabrication. Every class is full. He said they have the capacity to put 50 in each, but he only books 44 new hires so he can leave room for new instructor hires.
As for interview groups...today at 11am, there was the usual group of 30 or so in suits in the lobby waiting on their interviews.
YMMV

He's lying one way or another. Either he's lying in his "Pilot Training Dates and Sizes" chart (says 214 new hires for January), or he's lying about the number of people who have showed up/stayed (172 people on the seniority list from January). Or he can't count. Or all three.
Probably all three.

The most atrocious wind bag in that entire building.

I thought they were talking about CL at the training center, and if we were, I agree. Despite what he claims, he isn’t out to help pilots who are there to train.

One thing that was very clear from the 'Management Round Table' yesterday is DAL is becoming increasingly disconnected from the line. After a room of 25 CA's telling the Ground Ops Senior Manager that there is never anyone to park us or they can't find wands or headsets or dang near anything else, her one question in response was..."Were you early'?

I saw a mindless diatribe in our own forum that serves nothing but to dismantle unity. Management’s wet dream. Some, putting their own political bias on issues. This is not the time nor the place! Bad form, concentrating on personal battles in other regions and not the current one.
A worthy contract that fairly compensates the hardest working pilots in the industry is the battle at hand, here and now! Our union leader did an excellent job yesterday furthering our cause. Support the cause and don’t do/say things to weaken it. Whatever we end up getting is not just going to be handed to us. We will get what we can negotiate.
If you don’t understand why our union leader was at the hearing yesterday, how he got there, and why that is so important to our cause, then you have some catching up to do. We need to prepare for this fight like we do for a type oral! Study up, become a student of your craft and your profession. Yes, contract negotiations and the “how we” can help is part of that. Your, my, our paycheck size and QOL depend on it!
Apologies in advance for the diatribe, but it needs to be said.

Don’t know if this was tongue and cheek, but I agree with it.
