Contracts don’t expire. They become amendable.
You don’t vote to strike the day after it does. Delta’s came 3 years post-amendable date.
ALPA is a self-serving union that stabs its own members in the back. I don’t know how you can negotiate scope for legacy while in a different room negotiate for their regional sub-contractors.

EAL and TWA come to mind . ALPA set up the EAL pilots for an epic loss of their careers . ALPA assured all the eastern airline pilots that they would go with the airplanes and take their seniority. Obviously that never happened.
