I was more taken aback that I was about to be dressed down by a non rev FA for not helping. I was in uniform and headed to work another flight. The grand plan of Herb’s assistant to bring everyone onto one level has come to roost. Pitching in to help in a pinch has become an expectation, and what caused our meltdown. I know it’s not about cleaning an airplane or pushing a chair, it’s about professional courtesy to be berated for not helping….. I’m sitting in row three on a DH and I’m the first one off on a terminator…. “I’ll hold the van”…… need me a smoke

She would have gotten an earful from me if she dared to pull that crap on me. I don’t stand for being disrespected in public while in uniform and representing our profession.

Same. I don’t t clean the planes here never have never will. If they want to be where I am they can go where I’ve gone. It’s never been easier to become a pilot. They get paid very well to do their jobs. Many don’t clean worth a damn anyway.

Last time I rode in the back, I straightened up the seatbelts in my row. That's about all I do, and a working FA stopped me: "Dude, what are you doing? You don't have gloves -- that's how you get pink eye! I got this, have a good trip."

She was awesome.

I’m not digging passengers garbage out of the seats or crossing seatbelts (besides the ones in my row). This will never happen.

Crossing seat belts is the dumbest thing. I cant tell you how much time is wasted waiting for the seat belts to be crossed so we can board.

Ive never in many many times aboard a SWA plane been asked or expected by any FA to organize the cabin.

That being said if someone wants to don the gloves and go all garbage collector have at it. I am not paid for that.

As far as sitting in the cabin. Sit where you want. The mentality of "Sitting in the back" is an old thing and nowhere in any FOM AOM TOM BOM or any M I have seen.

As a new hire I got yelled at by one of the roving coke machines because I didn't move seats to accommodate a mother and kid traveling together. I was already in a middle seat so the thought didn't even come to mind. I didn't really say anything in return. I was basically speechless that she would have the audacity to call me out in public about it. Anything I would have said would have likely got me a carpet dance.

That was the last day I went behind the exit row on a commute or deadhead. It's been quite a few years, but I'm hoping to get to fly with her if she hasn't been fired already because she can't understand normal thinking.

“Roving coke machines”. I’m stashing that away…after I wipe up my coffee.

Did my first refusal to push a wheelchair up the jetbridge last trip. As far as I know we are not covered for liability.

Also heard that Uber is often uninsured and to take Uber X in those type of situations.

Wear the seatbelt in the van as well. I’ve had three potentially serious van incidents and have heard that no seatbelt equals no insurance.

Lots of rumors. Got to protect ourselves.
