Default Junior Bases

Which are the bases that most new hires are being assigned as new hires?
How long before a junior FO can hold DAL, ATL or MCO?

Thanks,

Interested in this too. Add LAS to the mix

Everywhere… New hires in every base except ATL, DAL, and HOU in the latest vacancy. You should be able to get any base within 6mo. You will hold LAS right out of the shoot no problem.

Thanks,
DAL, ATL 6 months. Everything else including HOU and LAS ETOPS within 2-3 months. Lots of new hires to MDW and BWI on the last bid

New hires to MDW sounds pretty great to me! Hopefully making the jump from the guys with the similar sounding name within a year

When in the training process does the domicile bid go in at? Aiming for MDW before IOE if IOE delays are a thing!

IOE selection is done separately, and should be no issue doing IOE in MDW. Then the rest of your IOE month will be filled in with trips from the same base (again likely MDW). You won't need to fly trips in base you bid until your first full month on line.

When we say there are "delays" for IOE, we mean in the context of Southwest Airlines. A serious delay is 2-3 week, not six months like at other airlines. Many are still going to IOE in 3-4 days after completing their last event in Dallas.

Sounds fantastic to me. Chicago has treated me pretty great at my regional so I'm definitely intending on staying here and just hopping over to MDW instead. Great to hear that delays are in the weeks not months! I waited from February till July for mine so I'm glad the grass gets greener. Thanks!

Just get to United ASAP. If you’re at SWA in a year or ten it’s your own fault and this post will remind you of that. Anywhere but here.
