I'd be looking at United if I was interested in Chicago.

Run to United.
Only 3 reasons to choose WN
1) You live in a base only for WN. Commuting sucks the life and drains one financially. Not worth it.
2) The pilots you work with. Third airline for me. I have yet to find 1, I mean that BTW, pilot I wouldn’t trust my family with. Not only are they competent, 99.7 percent are pleasant to work with. I could never say that at other outfits. (If I took a certain former SWAPA head who lives in MSP out of the equation, it would be 100 percent)
3) If you love to fly. We work harder than anyone else. It’s not the mundane waiting around work, we actually produce revenue for the company. So if you love to fly, WN is where it is.
Outside of those 3 reasons, choose somewhere else.

That ought to be #2, maybe #1 depending if the base you're looking for is also offered by another carrier. The amount of gaslighting is pretty outrageous. "We LUV you", but don't look behind the curtain at all the ways were screwing you and lately it hasn't even been behind the curtain. They've gotten so bold they've become exhibitionists.

Do you work at WN now and personally feel this way? ..or had you worked there and recently made the switch yourself and if so, where to?

Oooooooo, a new poster with a brand new login. Perhaps you can introduce yourself and let the community decide if you be real before we unpack and examine our soiled underoos.
Edit, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since your post from September doesn’t sound like a FH troll. SWA is seriously screwed up and you’d have to be crazy or desperate to come here. MAYBE come here to land the job and then just go anywhere else where the HQ of the damn place doesn’t collectively hate every pilot’s guts.
To more fully answer your question: I’m still here because I ignored the copious amounts of writing on the wall and stuck it out too long. Don’t be like me.

“Stuck it out too long” how long we talking? I have been here 16 years and I have a AA interview coming up soon. It’s never too late to make yourself happy.

If you said United or Delta - now that’s a whole other story.

I hope there is A LOT behind your decision! One deep black swan event that Uncle Sam doesn’t bail out the airlines and American will be gone or half it’s size. Their balance sheet is a train wreck waiting to happen. I interviewed with AA, did a deep dive into the financial situation and took a pass. Been here almost six years and never looked back.

Oh trust me, I have looked at everything.
My reasons
Currently living in a junior AA domicile (moving not a option)
Been commuting for years to one of the most senior SW domiciles (tired of commuting)
Money is not a factor (own 3 side businesses)
Tired of SWA schedules and the 737
AA is retiring the top 50% pilots, 7500 to be exact, in the next 8 years.
Upgrade dropping to 1.5 to 2 years where I live
I know it’s risky, but I’m going for it
Cheers
