I actually do and got a United Interview date scheduled. I was thinking of cancelling it since I will be at SWA class and was happy with my choice. Really don’t know what to do now. I take comments here with a grain of salt, but really this experience has made me nervous.
Now if you're upset that "well, this is SWA, and we're supposed to be different!", that I can't help with, other than to say pride goeth before the fall.
In a year no one will remember, or care.

And what are you going to do when United has an operational meltdown? I wouldn’t make such long term decisions based off of a few days of poor weather event recovery. Everyone gets their turn in this business I’m afraid.
With that said, SWA is going to need to do what Spirit had to some months back. A hard reset. 2000+ flights cancelled today and counting. There’s no recovering from that. Need to stop and restart the airline at this point. Good luck to everyone stuck out there trying to get home, or even into a hotel room.

The concerning part is that this has been cumulative and building. They’re too arrogant in DAL to realize just how inept they are. That is the concerning part of this, not the meltdown in particular but rather the trajectory of this company.

Bologna. This meltdown is like nothing I’ve seen in 24 years of 121. They have literally lost operational control of the airline.

IMO, SWA's culture is broken and has been for at least the approximately 20 years I've been here. Despite all the BS lip service about "luv" and "cohearts," it has always only been merely a psychological tool to extract lower costs from labor. The corporation doesn't want to hear from you and it definitely doesn't want to help you or your family if it costs it a penny more than it absolutely has to spend.

If I were you….I’d schedule the interview for when you can go and make the best decision you can with the info you’ve got.
If I had a job at both lined up, I’d head for UAL. Shorter upgrade, more fleet options, etc. 7 yrs ago QOL in DEN was way better at SWA which is why I stayed. Now I’m months from upgrade so there’s no point starting over.

Correct. We are currently at over 1,000,000 people who had the rug pulled out from underneath them. Look at some of the pictures of young families sleeping on the airport floor in their Christmas pajamas. Most of those have lost bags (some full of presents) which will take weeks to get back to them, if they are ever returned at all. The industry has never seen anything like this before. The entire executive board is on their way out.

Anyway it looks like they’re attempting a hard reset. 2600 flights cancelled so far and almost non tomorrow.
