Happy Hollandaise!
I’m headed back to work today. With a little luck I’ll be home late on Christmas Day. If you're on the road too, wishing you... (to the tune of 12 days of Christmas)
🎵 Great west Coast flying,
warm weather overnights,
friendly happy crews,
no major write ups,
patient happy pax,
lots of extra fuel,
premium holiday pay and...
Christmas dinner at the layover hotel with your work family free from politics and other divisive conversation... in a pear tree. 🎶
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good flight!

I presume as a senior FO you didn’t have to work Christmas much. I’ve found, after upgrading and being junior, that playing Santa on Christmas Day makes me feel better! I’ve made it a tradition if I work Christmas to give a small gift to my co-workers that I work with that day. I buy a bunch of Starbucks gift cards and give them to my FAs and gate agents working my flights. They LOVE it, and it makes me feel better…. Merry Christmas to you, and hope you make it home!

Now for the Grinch story…
Since I commute, I put my first two legs of this trip in giveaway. If they went, I would commute to Denver instead and get an extra night at home. No takers so I went to the airport and boarded a flight to my domicile.
I committed the cardinal sin and forgot to delete the giveaway request before commuting. When I landed, the first text I got was those first two legs being cancelled.
I pulled up my board and they were gone. I immediately realized what I had done. (Face palm!)
Found the guy who took them and sent him a text to see if he would be willing to restore them because commuting to DEN in the morning now is going to be pretty tough.
But, at the end of the day it was my fault for forgetting. I learned a rookie commuter lesson.
