"Sorry sir/ma'am, but you know that at Southwest Airlines, we do not have assigned seats." How many times do you remind people of that little nugget? I'd say at least as many as "look to your left, look to your right and take that seat..."
That depends on how you were trained. Either all seats are prime seats, or we have no prime seats. But in any case, you were definitely trained to drive a point that "at Southwest Airlines, we do not have assigned seats, so look to your left, look to your right...."
Besides, in an emergency, I'm sure we agree that we'd rather have a trained crewmember in that seat, otherwise, the whole safety briefing is BS.
